LaBellas [i]are[/i] hard to get over here, which why I use Roto 88s and GHS nylon flats. But Thomann carry them all (I think).

As others have said, it depends on where I've been, and where I'm going. Having tried it, it seems I'd use one finger per note -- index, ring, pinky -- although I [i]might[/i] barre it on a fretted bass, but I don't ever double-stop on fretless by barring (presumably cos I'd never do it on the double bass).

The classic McCartney "thump" sound was originally got with nylon flats, like Rotosound TruBass 88s, or even Hofner's own Beatle Bass strings.

I bought a Epi EB-3 from Delberthot. He was helpful, communicative, and easy to deal with, even when I was dicking around trying to sell another bass to pay him! And the bass was exactly as he said it was. Good chap, all in all.
