1. Since 99% of people can't hear as far down as that low E, it's a waste of effort as far as I'm concerned. As others have said, it has some questions about its design as well.
2. The one I'd be sorriest to see go would be the bitsa fretless P I put together myself. In the right circumstances I might give it to someone, I suppose. But It's not worth anything anyway, so that's easy for me to say.
3. Thanks gentlemen
4. Tune down a semitone?
5. There's a lot to like, IMO, but it won't please everyone, for sure. If it plays well and sounds nice, there's nothing there to put me off (except the price ). But there's nothing there which screams "Buy Meeeeee!!!!" either.
6.
I know, I was playing the innocent
I always fall for that
7.
Dunno what you're implying there chief
Ah, sorry. Joke.
8. No worries. Good luck with your sale
9.
if this is still available when you come up here I may be stupid enough to buy it
I suppose I should actually try to be helpful... I'm expecting this to be about the 15th-20th October.
10.
I sure would Mike! Hope you get something sorted!
11. Hmm... any trades? (I'm trying to work out a way to trade for Interpol52's SRF700 - which I'm sure he'd trade for this.)
12.
Up until the Victorian era the word 'Girl' applied to both male and female children
Really? I've not found a reference for the Victorian - best I can do is the Old English, which would be pre-Elizabethan (1400s?). Source, please?
13.
Identical to my Jim Deacon!
Quite possibly. Assuming that's not some sort of euphemism, that is...
14.
if this is still available when you come up here I may be stupid enough to buy it
A very sensible idea
15. Some threads which appear relevant: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/232295-truss-rod-broken-on-70s-wheel-of-fortune-neck/page__p__2397891__hl__change%20truss__fromsearch__1#entry2397891 http://guitarnuts2.proboards.com/thread/5347
16. Thanks, gentlemen - appreciated. I'll have a look. I do need to get rid of it though - repaired/bodged or not.
17.
I've got a pink 'un - might gig it soon!!; 90's Bass Collection
18. A raga on Radio 3. Sorry, missed the title and artist.
19. Indeed. Just a shame I don't know what I'm doing, eh?
20. I suppose the other thing would be to get a preamp/pickup set which needed 18 volts - which would need a two-battery route, which would be bigger, which would obliterate the evidence of this foulup.
21. After my initial shock has worn off somewhat... It's very 80s - though there are similar Italian designs from the 60s, IIRC. I wonder what it weighs - that extra upper bout (?) has to add to the weight. I suspect that doesn't actually do much except add weight and look, um, "different" seems the least controversial word - so I don't know whether I'd bother, even if I could afford it.
22. Ouch... That's no help, I know. But good luck!
23. These are better than their price suggests, IMO. One of my guitarists has one of these (now working properly since I had a go at it ). It would make a good starter, project or backup bass - I might have learned to love P necks if I'd got used to one of these when I was first [s]playing[/s] making a noise with a bass.
