1. Now £145 inc postage to UK X-Blender as new with box - Don't loose your bottomend. Mix wet and Dry signals on the fly. It gives you serial and parallel effects loop capability on your pedalboard but with the added features of a pre-amp with gain, eq and boost options, you don't lose signal when kicking in vintage pedals either. "Aux send/return" function preserves the integrity of the guitar's signal. The X-Blender incorporates pro-audio engineering technology to solve the sonic imperfection some effects produce and was designed to be completely transparent. You'll be amazed by the clarity of the sound! A particularly useful feature is the large blend knob you can operate with your feet for fine-tuning fx levels. True bypass Can be used in a serial or parallel effect loop IN, OUT, SEND and RETURN connections Foot switch for Blend on/off FX Phase switch (invert/normal) Boost Switch (+6 dB) Volume, bass and treble control with centre button Power supply with 9 V battery or 9 VDC power supply (not included) +Delivery/postage SOLD

7. Yeah i have to agree on your mini review skidder and congrats, it looks to be in good shape. I've been using SVT's now for 28 yrs and that's the reason why - A thick rich tone with unbelievable power, you have to try it through an 8x10" to appreciate what it is capable of. I've never tried anything that I consider to come close and every other amp i've tried, fails in comparision. The only trade off is the weight and the risk of going deaf !
8. Bill Hughes the inventor of the SVT recently posted on TalkBass forums that the 60s + 70s versions will work with an 8 ohm cab without any damage. Not so sure about the more modern ones but as a temp measure it may not harm it if you dont push it too hard.
9. Well worth it IMO.. the sound created from an SVT out weighs the weight it weighs !
10. Try here
11. Ampeg B15, closely followed by my '74 SVT and 810. I don't mind the weight and size etc. it's a small price to pay to experience their wonder.
12.
Just get a p bass , an ampeg and be done with it !!
+1 SVT and P = Heaven I'm based in South Yorks, I'm not lending them out but pm me if you want to try out a 70's SVT or a B15

14. Ampeg svt-610hlf cab for sale £600 - South Yorks area All info / pics on facebook.com/noddy.disarm
15. I played through of of those god awful stryper looking amps once, mark's bass or something. Never again.... never ever again, hated it.
16. Personally i believe that markbass are the worst sounding amps that i've ever used. "uncoloured" WTF then why has my bass sounded similar through other makes of amp until i plug it into one of those stryper amps. 20 years of playing a Precision through so many different amps that i can care to remember and many have varied in tone, but not to that low mid honk extent that a markbass makes. Amp discussions are always going to be down to personal taste but i'd take most other amps on the market befored id ever buy a markbass.
17. Here this might help http://www.branchsmi...flash.html#/58/ or the second half of this vid
18.
You might know how to EQ your Ampeg, but it doesn't sound like you know how to set up the F1. Having heard an F1 through a Markbass 2x10 I can confirm it didn't sound "horrible, flat and lifeless". Although you didn't say what kind of 2x10 it was, so I could be wrong there. I also know some basses do sound crap through Markbass gear, but will sound good through things like Ampegs (& vice versa of course).
Yeah i totally agree with you. My P has low output vintage style pickups. I only give it a quick tweak when i get up to play and it's usually to increase the gain and add a bit of top end, It's one of those F1 2x10 combos. Incidently most other muso's there at the gig commented that my bass does sound really good through it. Sound / tone is subjective and a personal preference.
19.
That statement only tells us that you don't know how to use an EQ.
Well take it that i do know how to use EQ because that's how it was ment to portray. I must need English lessons.
20. Setting your gear up.. i'm talking about speaker placement, eq, volume etc. My comment about the markbass was about it's lack of tonal competence and my dislike of it in the first place. Two different things.
21. I love it when the fridge comes with me to a gig, regarless of venue size, it just sounds so right. If you know how to set up your gear right you would never sound bad. I have been playing through a markbass F1 and 2x10" tho at jam gigs and it sounds horrible, flat and lifeless, nothing touches a real 70's SVT and 8x10".
