1. Are you playing fingerstyle or picked? Could it be that the undamped other strings are resonating in sympathy?
2. It can sometimes be due to where you pluck. If I remember rightly, there’s a harmonic node on the D and G strings right where the pickup is on a P bass. I can sometimes hear that strongly if I pluck right in that spot.
3. Actually, the original (non-mini) version is even funnier: https://shop.drno-effects.com/product/turd/

7. The source audio OFD and Aftershock have RAT models in them.
8. Anyone on here got these? I’d like to get an idea how they compare with others I’ve tried. Given they’re in the states, I am reluctant to import them on a whim.
9.
No tapewounds for Nard.
Nice find, thanks.
10. Honeyburst is such a beautiful finish; it's such a shame they stopped offering it recently.
11.
Tapewound strings on an active bass will be OK-ish, but IMO makes it sound more like a passive P bass so defeats the object of an active J. Louis Johnson and Bernard Edwards did some of their best work on Stingray's with tapewounds so it's all down to what you like.
Where did you learn that Bernard used tapewounds? Could you please point me to the source. If this is true then I’ll definitely try it as I absolutely love his sound. I always assumed he used something like Labella flatwounds.
12. Just wondering if anyone has done this and has sound clips. I’m curious as to how it’d sound and was thinking of trying this on my Sterling for fun.
13. Well that is a shame but thanks for trying. How about WMD stuff? I’d be well up for trying the Protostar filter as it looks and sounds like loads of fun.
14. Just spotted a non-deluxe version (otherwise I’d have bought it): https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F272918566886
15. Thanks, that seems a real shame. Maybe Taylor understood bulk order as double figures or something whereas it’ll most likely be under 10 units. Given that there doesn’t seem to be a limit on the quantities of pedals one can order, it would be feasible for one person to place an order for 6 pedals, would it not? What practical difference would that make to six individuals placing an order? I guess perhaps he ships one out as he makes it so it’d cause a bit of a wait if they were being sent at once. But surely it’d mean 1 post office trip as opposed to 6.
16.
Wow! Wonderful bass and this one looks a bit special. I already have one otherwise I’d be all over this!
Same here, though I’ve always wanted one with the mutes. Mine is a really good one though so no point changing it.
17. I’m guessing you don’t have the original bridge and pickup any more. Where are you based, please?
18. I’ve managed to get even better performance out of my MXR BOD; I finally got time to go and get my 75RI jazz back from Jon Shuker at the weekend and it’s strung with Rotosound steel rounds and it can get and hold a low F on the E string no problem. That’s better than my P with flats does.

20.
Hello yes. Leave it with me gents, I’ll see what I can do!
Excellent, thanks. I was just about to reply to your email but you’ve already answered my question.
21.
Good idea - I think you've already rented some of his gear and know him? If so, please invite him along to join the party (and / or to lead / coordinate if he wants to - he will have a bunch more experience than me on importing from the US).
I’ve just emailed him to ask if he’s interested or can offer any advice.
22.
I wonder how 2008 - 2016 compares to the new American Professional Series. Anyone?
From a feel point of view the newer Pro Series feels great. I found the neck on the older ones uncomfortable (I prefer J-width) but the neck profile (based on a ‘63 P) on the newer ones was no problem.
23. I’m trying to bear in mind the title of this thread. If I could choose only one filter it probably wouldn’t be the Aguilar Filter Twin simply because there’s no resonance control and I like having the flexibility to make have it be either subtle or crazy as I feel. However it is a fantastic filter and the fixed resonance is in a pretty sweet spot so I’m very much enjoying it. Similar story on the Fwonkbeta though it does have a resonance control but it goes from high to stupidly high. It sounds fantastic but couldn’t be used in every situation in which a filter is required. It’s loads of fun but again couldn’t be my sole filter.
24. If you get into the TonePrint editor there are some amazing possibilities to tweak the tracking response (by changing the input EQ) and all the sounds.
