1. I'm recovering a grotty old peavey 2x12 and was wondering if carpet is any easier than vinyl?? Any other recovering advice? I've bought the textured paint but have had second thoughts...
2. I find some of this a bit odd - we played our first proper gig on Saturday night, two 45 minute sets and got paid £200...and thought we should have pushed for a bit more?
3. In a bid to try and get some more pub gigs, the band want to put some recorded song snippets onto our myspace page. Now obviously we are talking about pop/rock covers, so where do we stand with regards to copyright? One of the guys reckons that if the audio clips are short enough then we wont run into problems...is he right?
4.
I dont like Fenders so yes! Ive played a fair few basses over the years, owned a few med/high end basses too so i know roughly what im after. plus i guess it helps i but a fretless bass together to my spec too.
I say go for it mate, I'm in exactly the same position and am meeting Jon on Monday. It's all a learnning a curve and if the bass turns out to be different sounding, well then it's a good excuse to get another! I'm having one built as I need something lightweight. Sorry I can't help more than that - Jon can copy neck shapes which is what i'm having done
5. As the title, are they worth buying or not worth the trouble? Our singer is skint, but always goes on about getting a wireless
6.
Not sure I can help I terms of identifying the differences between different brands, but I started a thread about the differences between 9V and 18V preamps – might be some help to you? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=35505
That was quite informative cheers!! Anyone else?
7. I've only recently been converted to active, and am starting to get ideas together for a custom build. Are there many real differences with active pickups/preamps? I've only used EMG pickups - are they 'typical' of most active gear? If this has been asked before then can anyone point me towards the thread?
8. I don't get this as you don't have to use effects?? Anyways, fwiw I bought an xtpro to go with my xt...
9. Sorry mate, postage will be a lot more than a fiver and it's already sold
10.
what did you get?
Just some no name brand off eBay...
11. As title - just stopped working on one side. About 18 months old. £40 collected from Hull. Be good as a practice amp...
12. For some reason I've received two copies of this mag. First person to email me: [email protected] Payment via paypal gift to cover postage
13. As I've just had to replace my amp, I've decided to buy a power amp. The plan was to buy a pod xt pro to replace my kidney bean pod xt. However I've come across a sansamp rpm which looks tasty and easier to use. My question is should I stick to the line 6 or should I look at getting seperate components? Only really use the preamp and compressor on the line 6 currently. Just how good would I find the rpm compared to the line 6, apart from being easier to use!
14. Last bump before ebay tonight...
15.
i just found this http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_e800.htm
Cheers guys - got sorted with a reasonably cheap 400w per side.
16. Thanks for all the advice - got the Alesis IO26 Firewire...and it's great!!
17.
You have to allocate the input bus on each track to let it see the channel of the sound card / mixer, not obvious in the start up book, better described in the full operation manual. SR
Chhers for that d'oh!!
18.
Got any pics? Zach
Obviously I've also got the PSU and the cable which connects Pod to floor controller.
19. I've got a red guitar Pod XT with all the model packs (thats metal, classic, FX and Bass) in good condition with the FBV four pedal controller. Looking for £210 delivered as the model packs are worth over £100! I'm going back to a rack power amp, so might as well rack everything...again...oh dear!! For pics see below
20. Would a cheap disco amp be ok? There's a fair few on eBay for under £200...
21.
Email Ashdown, they've got brilliant customer service.
Cheers I've sent them a mail
22. I'm just weighing up options as my superfly has lost one channel. I've got two 4 ohm Eden Nemesis cabs and was thinking of just replacing the superfly with a poweramp? I've been setting the superfly flat and using the pod anyway. Is there anything to stop me just using a poweramp? Seems a cheap way to get what I want?? If so, could anyone recommend me something? Would like at least 2x400 watts as didn't have enough headroom with the superfly (or maybe I just got a duffer) Db technologies look quite cheap...
23. At rehearsal the other night my superfly decided to cut out on 1 channel. Are they known for this? Is it worth trying to get it repaired? One channel isn't loud enough for the band...
24. I cant seem to get it to record - I can see the volume meter moving up and down in the channel box (so I know my inputs are right) but nothing gets recorded...any ideas?
