1. Jazz bell electronics plate with cheap metal knobs and jazz pots £5 WD Music White/black/White Jazz scratchplate still with protective plastic on it £8 Precision flat topped chrome knobs £6 Jazz black plastic knobs (real Fender!!) £6 All prices plus postage
2. JAZZ SOLD Both basses come with hard cases. Both are pretty much unmarked and setup by John Shuker - the Jazz with Roto Nickels, the Precision with D'addario short scale Nickels. The Jazz is a 75 so does have holes for the pickup covers etc (I got rid of them a while ago). Both maple necks - the Jazz having blocks. Looking for £130 for the Jazz and £140 for the precision (I had to buy a proper short scale case from America). ***I've received LOADS of PMs about these two basses - first person to say they definitely want a bass to my PM gets it (or if its a swap which I fancy)*** Collection from Hull/ daytime courier collection ok Trades possible - what have you got?
3.
Hi James, I've got the 203, new and in the box. Perfect for a Precision. Straight swap? Chris
Hahaha I was just looking at that thinking 'Nah he won't want to swap!!' Consider it a deal!! Can you PM me your address and I'll do the same
4. I've got a brand new unfitted Gotoh 201 which I'd like to swap for a traditional looking bridge for a Precision. Preferably a heavy duty bridge but must look traditional. Nothing flimsy though!!
5. I'v an SX 75 Jazz in sunburst that I'd like to swap for a nice playable electro/acoustic guitar. The SX has only been used a few times and is not dinged/marked at all. Black scratchplate, bound maple neck with blocks. Been set up recently by John Shuker with Rotosound Nickels downtuned a tone (used it with the band for 3 songs). I've relearned the 3 songs in drop D tuning so don't need this bass now!! Acoustic must be an electro - I can't be arsed fannying with a soundhole pickup (selling my acoustic for exactly that reason). Don't mind a few dings and stuff, as long as the neck is nice to play. Can add cash into the deal. Will post photos if there's any interest.
6. ...and is it any good?
7. Back when I used to play the guitar a bassist mate had an Aria Pro II. I've seen a few for sale recently, can someone give me a brief rundown as it's one of the few makes that I'm absolutely clueless about. Just seen this locally for £85:
8. Has this definitely gone?
9. Do you know the weight? I'm presuming it's a Jazz nut width?
10. Hello from the other side of the city - I'm in Hedon Playing at Highway Saturday night if you're around
11.
Did the knobs come off without any hassle? I remember them being very tight when I had a Precision Special. I suppose the 'rest and original knobs are included in the sale? A lovely instrument - highly recommended - good, modern slap tone for a vintage(ish) bass
When I first bought it I stripped everything off to Brasso it - they were a bit sticky then Yep everything included in the sale - a Precision B neck is still causing cramps in my neck hand which I just don't get with a Jazz neck. God damn early arthritis and small hands...
12.
Sounds like a very good buy but I don't think anyone will snap your hand off without a brand name and some specs, James.
Fair enough... It's a Pulse PLA 800 and it can be ran in Bridged mode. It's 800 watts and its immaculate. Cost over £250 from eBay last year.
13. Bump...would consider trades - Fenders or active stuff, but must be light
14. SX Jazz control bell plate. Excellent condition. Everything wired together and just as removed from the bass. includes silver bell plate, all three pots/knobs and jack socket. £5 plus £2 postage should cover it... Immaculate unused black tolex SX shaped hard case for a Jazz (it may fit a Precision...if anyone is interested I'll dig a Precision out and try it.). Collection prefered from Hull/courier also OK. Want £35 as it is completely unused. Off white Jazz scratchplate still with the plastic on it. 10 holes. £10 delivered. 3 ply white/black/white. Never fitted. Paypal is fine. Also accept PO or cheque.
15. Hardly used, excellent condition. It's a 400watt stereo amp. Looking for £100. Collection from Hull prefered.
16. Thanks for that - will give them a look
17. As the title - never been on a stand. Completely as brand new £35 delivered
18.
What exactly are the features you're after? I don't have a Bass Trainer so am not quite sure what they do beyond the basic idea of letting you play along to an mp3 and slowing it down. I suspect there's at least a combination of bits of software I can recommend do accomplish the same end goal.
To be able to loop a piece of music easily - 1 click. Maybe something to change pitch and a nice software preamp
19. I've finally got my guitar room sorted and have a spare soundcard and laptop. Is there a PC equivalent of a Tascam bass trainer? Cheers
20.
Just a word of warning - there are (or were) no spare parts available for the MP3 version. I had one of these and managed to crack the screen (both the plastic cover and the LCD unit itself) - I put it in my trouser pocket and walked into a newall post. Totally my fault, but was dissapointed that I could not buy a spare for what must be the most vunerable part of the whole thing. Tascam did make some amends by selling me a new one at wholesale price, but it still seems a shame that spares are not available. Does anybody out there have a MP3-BT1 that has failed for other reasons? so we could do 'cut and shunt' * job with them. * pronounce with care!
Yes!! PM me!
21. I'm on my 2nd after the on/off switch broke off!! Then the USB socket broke off the board. Tascam then refused to repair it as I could only provide an Amazon receipt
22. Just bought a Sadowsky Metro from Pablo, top bloke and a nice easy deal. Good communication and item as described. Very happy.
23.
If you have only 3 songs in drop D...
The three songs are DGCF not just dropped D. Think I may just try dropping the E string on the fly. I'm sure I've got a tuner out on the amp...
24. Cheers for the replies guys. Now trying to decide if it would be worth dropping the E to D... Has anyone done this and had to relearn lots of songs? Is it worth doing? Going to one bass and a spare would be far easier than having to take 2 spares...
25.
*ahemfivestringahem*
I can't get on with the neck size on a 5...dropping the e would be the answer but then I would have to relearn 27 songs...
