1.
I'm also a point of contact for Jon Shuker, so if you want to drop me a line I can help a bit!
I think going direct to Jon is probably best, then if anything goes wrong no one else is to blame... Jon's really friendly and highly recommended, just take his build times with a huge pinch of salt!
2. Tell me about it - I've got to faff around with couriers now!
3. I've just received a BB1024, but am unhappy with the quality and am going to return it. Isn't the 1024 supposed to be the mass market Yamaha flag ship? I realise the 2024 is hand built, but the quality of mine is really shoddy. The neck bolt holes are really roughly cut and the electronics plate on the back is also poorly cut. Also a Mark on the back of the body. Bit of a shame as it sounds fantastic, first bridge pickup I've played that didn't sound thin! Anyone else got a 1024? Is mine just a Friday afternoon guitar? Also must add that although the gigbag is technically a freebie it feels really cheap! Not happy
4. Sorry not at present
5.
Thomann has the Contego for £60.
Ok thanks I've found that
6. Just like to make clear that this was a £140 case, I've had a few people wanting to swap for £30 new gigbags. I am looking for a quality gigbag ie Protec Contego which is around £100 new. It's this case: http://www.drumza.com/images/FenderSKBMold...azzBassCase.jpg Thanks to the basschatter that sent that link!
7. I think bottom end is very subjective. I use mine as an extension for my Shuttle 310. Great, lightweight cab. Baby Ampeg fridge - highly recommended!!
8.
The zoom b9.1 is OUTSTANDING. And the tuner can be assigned to a single press. Mine has replaced a full separates board after the best part of twenty years and I've not looked back once! It gets comments and compliments everywhere and with my iPhone plugged in is my main practice tool. I have all my patches in A-I for live and then replicated in 0-9 with amp sim for headphones/recording. The instant switching makes it very practical too and it floors the boss gt units I've dabbled with before.
How large is it? Could I get it in a decent sized gigbag pocket? The guitarist in the band has a g9.22 - is the bass version a similar size minus an expression pedal?
9. First off, apologies. I've already posted a thread asking for a small multiFX unit, but have now changed gigbags. I am looking for a unit which has a Line in (meaning I can use it connected to my Tascam MP-BT1 as the preamp in that doesn't sound very good to me). Secondly I'd like it to have an easy to use tuner - used to have a foot pedal on a Line 6 XT that involved pressing two pedals together - which I hated. I've got a Korg Pitchblack but preferably want an all in one unit. Modelling doesn't interest me (unless it's on a catwalk ). I will primarily be using it for the tuner/compressor and chorus. DI would be nice. Possibly looking at messing with something synthy but never used any FX like that before and the current band doesn't really need them. Any ideas? Thinking Zoom B9.1ut or the more expensive Rocktron Utopia B200 which has a tuner...don't know about the line in though...
10.
gotcha Don't think you will do much worse/better than the Zoom TBH
Yeah think I might end up with that, although the Magicstomp does look good. I'm trying to trade a DHA DI and a Korg Pitchblack so hopefully something will turn up!
11.
why not just get a compressor then? Don't think any pof the comps in mutlis are that great, adequate but not great
Tbh it was an all in one solution of compressor/chorus/tuner that appeals
12. The Zoom looks a bit cheap and the compressor seems to get bad reviews (which is most of what I want it for)
13. Looking to swap either or both for a Zoom B2/Yamaha Magicstomp/ME20b/Zoom B9 or other multi FX unit. Korg is immaculate, DHA DI/EQ has a chip in the paint , it's been sat in my gig bag having never been used. Cash either way
14.
Always worth a quick look in FX for sale section, is this small enough http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=113834
Yeah but is it any good??!! That kind of size would be ideal. Would like a tuner/compression and chorus. Doesn't have to be a pedal on thinking about it...
15. I've managed to get rehearsals down to a one trip from the car but fancy a multi FX unit - problem is that I've only got limited room in my gigbag pocket, so smaller the better. Is there anything that is a similar size to the zoom b2?
16. Yes it was, why are they so much cheaper for these?
17. Wow, so much negativity!! The body shape looks good in the flesh, honest
18. Well I've done it...I've ordered an ermmm 1024
19. Yeah definitely thanks
20. Off to find the best deal. Thanks for that
21. Wow thanks for that. Think I'm leaning more towards the 424. My only reservation is how it's going to feel after my Dingwall. I play an SX at work, the days I pick the Dingwall up it feels like a Rolls Royce compared to the SX! Is the 424 going to feel 4x cheaper than the Dingwall?
22. Been playing Simply The Best for a while now, but the verse slap riff isn't as punchy as I'd like. I'm tempted to buy a Line 6 Floor Pod and wondered whether it would be good for this song too?? Any advice?
23. I'm thinking of a BB for my next bass but can't decide between these two. Is the BS much better than the 424? Only thing I could find on here was Out To Play Jazz who stated that the BS is a bit more boomy compared. Anyone compared them?
24. I love mine - the neck just feels so comfortable...
