  1. Bump - can't attach any photos. Seen something on here that I'd be interested in so I have dropped the asking price....
  2. I've got a little Vox DA5 Classic guitar practice amp. I fancied a go at guitar then realised the error of my ways. In fairness to the amp, it's a pretty decent little thing. It's 5 watts, has a number of effects which are actually quite good, can run on batteries or a mains adapter (included). It also has a separate mic. input so might work well for busking. It's in great condition. Looking for £40 collected from Tewkesbury or possibly Chipping Norton where I work. Can't post pictures but it is the version with traditional Vox cloth not the metal speaker grille Cheers
  3. Got a few bass books for sale if anyone is interested. All very good condition. Postage would be £1.50 on each book. Fretless Bass by Chris Kringel (Hal Leonard book with CD) £5 101 Bass Tips by Gary Willis (Hal Leonard book with CD) £4 JS Bach for Electric Bass by Bob Gallway (no CD) £2 Chords for Bass by Dominik Hauser (Musicians Institute with CD) £5 Cheers Jez
  4. Traded the Yamaha in at a guitar shop and added a picture of the Westfield type bump....
  5. Sold a book to Mike - only a small item but dead easy guy to deal with. Thanks Mike
  6. I've got a blue Musicman USA Sub 4 bass (the one in my profile picture) that is in excellent condition but is not getting used that I am selling for[s] £375[/s] £350. It is the active version with 2 band preamp. I might be interested in trading for a lightweight bass cab. The Sub has a nice blue pearloid scratchplate and has no dents except a tiny 1x2mm chip by the control plate. Headstock does not have any chips out of the paint unlike many. I'd prefer a sale but may consider a trade.I'm thinking of ending up with a two 1x12 cab setup so am looking at trading this bass for the first cab. Open to suggestions but compact and light is the aim - thinking of Markbass NY121 but will consider other makes too. Need to be small to fit the boot of a Ford Ka!! I'd be looking for a little cash adjustment my way as a typical 1x12 Markbass cab seem to go for about £300. Might consider other speaker configurations like a 2x10... Let me know if you have anything or if I am off the mark or if you would like any photos. I've attached one photo - will try to attach more.... Cheers Jez
  7. I've got a copy of 'The Art of Inlay' by Larry Robinson (2005 edition) in good condition for sale. This is the one with a picture of a Martin guitar on the front. Tried to paste a link to it on Amazon UK but it didn't work!! £8 posted Cheers
  8. I should say when I did this before it was on a cheap bass! If it had been some thing other than that I would have used a radius block.....
  9. Hi Matt, In my opinion, I reckon if you trim the veneer back to almost flush with a Stanley blade carefully then use a firm sanding block with some very fine paper sanding along the length of the neck you should be okay. I use radius blocks for new builds when starting with a flat board but think you should be okay being careful with a normal block for this. I have done this once before and it was fine. Be interested to see what others think Cheers
  10. Recently bought a gig bag from Sid. Arrived really quickly and was exactly as described - communication was first class all the way. Would have no hesitation dealing with Sid again. Cheers Jez
  11. As I've now made myself a few basses, it has been pointed out to me that I maybe have too many and should make a bit of room....... Yamaha - GONE Westfield junior/shortscale P-bass. Seemed to be aimed at kids; I got this for my son but he had no interest (time for a DNA test I think...). Bass is in excellent condition and still has protective film on scratchplate and comes in original box. It's red with a white scratch plate. Scale length is about 25" so is most suitable for kids, shorter folk or as a travel bass. Asking [s]£60[/s] [s]£50[/s] £45 for this Would prefer pickup from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. Drop a line if you have any questions. Cheers
  12. Finally finished this build - really chuffed with it so far but only played it quietly for a short time.
  13. And not to forget the USA made SUB Sterling.....in the same way the USA SUB is a cheaper version of the 'ray, the USA SUB Sterling is a cheaper version of the Sterling. Same sort of differences as the other USA SUB basses (no contouring, textured finish) but has 3 band eq but no pickup switch. You don't tend to see many USA SUB Sterlings around. I really like mine - sounds great and I prefer the thinner neck on the Sterling. I got GAS for USA SUB basses a few years ago and bought three; 4 string, 5 string and the Sterling!! Watch the 'for sale' section in the near future, I'm considering selling the 4 string USA SUB (blue one in my profile picture) because I always use the Sterling and it doesn't get used. I was going to sell it a year or two back but when I played it again, I really enjoyed it. That might well happen again!!!
  14. Cheers for the info. Hadn't really considered Shroeder cabs - will have find one to give a try. I do like the MB200 so will look at others in the range. Cheers again Jez
  15. I currently have two Ashdown mini cabs (1x15 and 4x8), a GK MB200 and an Ashdown ABM Evo ii 500 head. I fancy a bit of a change...... The current set-up isn't too big and fits quite easily in my Ford Ka (one cab ad the ABM head fits perfectly in the boot). I am finding myself looking at possible single cab solutions but also possibly changing the head as I tend to use the MB200 all the time. The set-up is just for a covers band and pub gigs so my two cabs is probably overkill as it is!! I'm thinking of: 1. Changing the ABM head for an EBS Reidmar and keeping the cabs 2. Changing the lot for a Markbass CMD151P 3. Get a different 4ohm cab for the MB200 4. Keep what I've got and go to the pub Any suggestions? Cheers .
  16. Glad you liked it. Many thanks for the kind words
