2.
Not me Squire. I could do you a box of Betamax videos (some featuring "adult" content) and one of those gadgets for shaving the fluff off of knitwear if you're game. J.
Please not a knitwear shaver,my Mrs suffers from bi-polar and one of her bad days I returned home to find she had shaved the M&S fairisle scatter cushions full of holes..All 6 of em at 45 quid a chuck.......bless her...As for the Betamax Not for me but on a serios note I do have a box load of 8 & 16mm cine porn from the early 60's that will be on the bay shortly....and some of the covershots would suggest the young ladies starring could have done with the fluff trimmer

  4.

As do many of my made in Koreas
  5.
It's my one & only relic'd instrument. Despite my strong "anti" views, I rather like this one.
Today I received an offer of 50p and a bushel of Gherkins.........................................................................that had to come from a BC codger..Who remembers Bushels? I have little use for 50p & I cannot stand Gherkins
  6.
And I'm one of 'em. Not planning to bid - it's a really nice bass and a particularly nice piece of timber for the body, but I already have so it wouldn't make much sense for me to buy yours!
OK but mine aint got gravel rash or is that MoJo
  7.
BUMP!
What are you looking for exchange wise.....ideas please
  8.
She bee nice Tino
On the bay 1 bid at 99p and 48 watchers You lot got nowt betta to do???
  9.
That would make more sense to me, I've got a Shuker and the build quality is superb. I can't see your Bass needing a fret dress especially if it's brand new. Your Luthier might be charging you £70 to turn an Allen key a quarter turn.
That will be it.....best hope its not a full turn at £280
  10.
We've had threads showing off black basses, white basses, Wal basses & pretty much everything else. I'm not aware of one celebrating the humble sunburst. So in a bid to get a thread on Sunbursts started, here are mine; from left to right we have a Resonator Bass (from China via Texas!?), a Hofner Verithin Bass, a Hofner Beatle Bass, my original 80s Precision & a 70s parts Jazz bass. I didn't reallise I'd become such a sunburst fan! What you got? Show 'em here!
Got a greenburst but it will not upload
  11.
Over where ?
Over here in Sunny Hertfordshire

  13.
Theres a bit of info here http://www.jedistar.com/jedistar_vintage_guitar_dating_s.htm. The one I bought is allegedley one of the 2 mentioned in the text I am told but I dont know if its 100% genuine. I am negotiating the sale on the other one left but the price is steep. The seller tells me that Paul George designed the one I have in 1964/5 and that it was a 1 off ???? No proof of it though,he tells me he is related to the Georges of Hollywood. Im currently cleaning her up and getting it ready for putting in a Mustang bridge(bought one last night and a trem arm) as this girl suffers the same as Jaguars, had a mess with it yesterday and all the switching is good as are all pickups, gonna pick up a set of flats today and see how it sounds after a decent set up... I must add a picture of the case later....ITs OH SO GLAM..... Please do not veiw pics of case without a sick bag at the ready
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...m=180635881354.. 15.
You wouldn't say that if I blagged your El Maya for a tenner! Now, that green thing's very interesting, looks in lovely nick too. You might well be right about Teisco/Kawai as a manufacturer, certainly looks related in a lot of ways. Never seen one of these before, so what exactly is it then? Ross - like you say, Global is one of millions of rebrands - most of the names on JapCrap are. This one is, I'd say Korean rather than MIJ, I'm basing that on the plain, narrow neckplate & the slightly odd-shaped truss rod cover. These are very Hondo-esque, as is the finish, which unashamedly displays its edge laminations - the Japanese at least tried to hide the plywood! I'd bet you'd find plastic buttons rather than metal on the tuners, too. For what it's worth I think that Columbus J posted earlier is Korean too. Still looks nice, though J.
Theres a bit of info here http://www.jedistar.com/jedistar_vintage_guitar_dating_s.htm. 17.
If you're gonna go that route - lots of very detailed, clear pics, an accurate & honest description - and a title stuffed with keywords to get the hits. And don't forget, there are no certainties - it could still sell for three quid to an 'orrible c*** like me... J.
Your not an orrid C**t at all Heres something for a Jolly nice chap that appreciates JapCrap,I paid far toooooooo Much but I liked it.....and at long last it arrived...I know what it is and I think it was possibly made in the same factory as early Teiscos... The bridge is its only let down so its out with that and in with one fron a Fender Jaguar as the spacings are the same.... You should see the original sparkly case case possibly designed by Mary Quant!!
  18.
3 out of 4 bands I left never met up again afterwards. Not sure if that's something to be proud of or not !
I hear they did,but just left you off the invites
  19. If you know this amp you know its CHEAP at 200 squids If you dont have a google Would suit a 6foot 6 monster YEP its Big And Heavy// In great condition....like all my gear
  20.
Hard to be sure, I think I'd hope for summat around the £200 mark. If it was mine I'd stick it on Ebay at 99p no reserve & let it find its own level. Spinynorman - inclined to agree, considering it's a cheap knockoff of the Kramer Duke & they sometimes only go for a ton or so more. J.
Cheers 99p tiz den
  21.
Definitely - that's the Ebay Effect for you. You can also see the effect of this deluded twonk & his hilariously overpriced Westone Thunder 1 in the various £200+ Westy Thunders that have suddenly appeared since he listed it. The fact that someone was evidently prepared to pay over £400 for what's previously always been a £150ish bass ain't going to help reality/sanity reassert itself, either. J.
Hi Ho Jon any idea as to what a 70's ElMaya telecaster bass is worth in good nick???? Cheers
  22.
These are sort of interesting - seems they were made in both Italy & Japan, no idea about the Jap ones but the Italians are Eko. If it's cheap, definitely get it for mucking around on, tidying up & flogging. These presumably are the earliest Rickenfakers, seem to be mid-60s onwards. Found this on RickResource, of all places: J.
And knowing what a theiving B'Stard I am I got £475 for one of these on Gumtree London........mugs & buses....eventually one or 3 will come along....In my defence it was mint ,unplyed and had a rather nice hardcase too.
  23.
Just realised that i've had the same set of la bella flats on my bass for two years now. I still like the sound, so don't really see the point in changing them, but part of me just feels i should do. So I was wondering who on basschat holds the record for longest time without changing the strings on their main bass. Anyone over the decade mark?
Not a Bass ...............BUT...........................I have a 79 Gibson LP Custom on Ebay now with a start of £1900 and the strings are those put on about 20 years back. How Tight am I???? Vintage & Collectable strings MUST add to the Value
  24.
I've started looking around for a combo recently and was wondering if there were any recommendations for something in my price range (the most I can go is about £300-325)? I'm after something that is a bit of an all-rounder, that can cope with punky plectrum-playing stuff as well as fretless playing. At the moment I've got my eye on the Fender Rumble 150, but is there something better out there that may suit my needs...?
Got a Roland DB 700 with effects and HP socket 15" speaker lot of combo for £250 ono.In superb condition with wheels and a cover
  25.
... a copper earthing strip, as found on vintage Jazz basses between the back pickup & the bridge? Guitar Part Resource used to sell 'em but not any more
You can buy brass draught excluser strips they have a silly bit of rubber on but you can cut it off with snips,I used it in my Jaguar works fine
