2.
This is a bit of a random post where I need to start by admitting I have no idea about Joe Barden pickups and really hoping for some advice. Basically I have a small site and want to have USA company based items on the site, such as Bartolini etc - stuff that isnt easily available in the UK. I have been in touch with Joe Barden about their products but I do not know too much about them. Are they any good?? Thanks!
The original Barden Engineering DG pups were fantastic Im told,I have the newer version in a G&L ASAT Telecaster and they are good but not remarkable...I would imagine the price in the UK would not be competitive with an individual sourcing and importing their own from the US...as I remember I think I paid about £100 more in the UK than if I had gone through a US guitar site.
 3.
Yeah, bloody annoying isn't it?!
Not really as at least they are cheaper than Vintage & Rare.....
 4.
What do you do with a bass once you've decided to part with it? Me, I'll sell it if it's worth anything, if not I'll donate it to a school or youth club - but I've never thrown one away. I can't imagine anyone else would, either. So, given that say Fender alone having been making making thousands of basses a year for the last 30+ years, where are they all? Is there a special place, like the elephant's graveyard, where old basses go once they've have reached the end of their useful life?
I think most of the Fenders traypse over to Germany where they are stripped of the useful organs,,rebuilt and offered on E Bay???

 6.
He, he. Just a bit of a laff. We watched a doc about Victorian Britian when families were huge and a lot of women routinely died during childbirth. To avoid embarrassment, a gentleman would politely ask, 'how is the current mrs discreet' or whoever, because there was a fair chance she would have died and quickly been replaced in the interim, as it was not the done thing for a gentleman to remain unmarried for long...
Lets face it if theres no wife "Theres no Tea"
 7.
The defects are on the pictures, so I send to tino focus on them and it consider it is too much for a 95/100 grade. So it is his evaluation, and mine is given by two good shops in Paris ( "custom shop" & "vintage" that quoted this one at 95/100) I just want to be fair because I proposed to send to tino a lot of pictures in order tino knows exactly the condition of the guitar before he requested them and I'm surprised of the reaction. And to complete, I don't know what is a 95/100 grade (shop evaluation) but I consider 80/100 very less for this one.
Chris So as to close this matter out FINALLY I sought a favour of V&R stateside I sent your pics and you will probably have received my confirmation email...In essence it states 1. My estimation is being VERY generous not only are there the faults I mention but others seem apparent elsewhere on investigation of your photos. 2.This is not as rare as you beleive and they value it as $1800 to $2000 ON A GOOD DAY 3. They have access to one in collector condition for substantially less than you have been led to beleive its worth, albeit without a certificate or accompanying paperworks...... 4.I bought it and come Monday its on its way...... AND I STILL WISH YOU EVERY SUCCESS IN SELLING YOURS See Ya
 8. At the tender age of 52,I finally realised my sound matters not.givin ups not giving in...just gonna kick back and watch the offspring now...boy am I gonna abuse them....what do they know anyhow..after all they had a pants teacher.lol

 17.
You all know what I'm on about . Went to see From the Jam in Dec where he played his 57 reissue most of the time, a couple on the Ric and the Waterstone for 'Start'. According to his website, he's gone Marshall again with a VBA400 this time. He had a killer tone as always........ I would literally kill to have that tone myself and I'm getting close but I'm not getting 'that' sound I so desire. Interested to know if any players on here think they have a similar tone, and how they went about getting it ? for the record, my current gear : Rick 4003 Fender P USA Tony Franklyn signature model JMI AC100 valve head (reissue) JMI 2 x 15 16ohm Cab (reissue of the T60 loaded with celestion greenbacks )
What you really need is the Ibanez Rickenfaker Just Like Bruce had......it just so happens I have one for sale.....always worth a try

 20.
1992 Gretsch Tennessee Rose, Filtertrons, original case. Stunning guitar in very nice condition for it's age. A few light marks here and there and a couple of small dings but nothing major, and only light rash on the back. Proper F holes not the painted on ones the newer models have. Tone to die for. The previous owner removed the Bigsby B6C and replaced it with a hard tail which I prefer. These go for well over a grand used, but I'd like £850, and I'll do my best to drive it to you within reason. Beautiful guitar, but I need some cash or another bass, so it has to go.
Hi Rayman I have passed a link to a freind and hopefully he will get in touch with you...I already have one, else would have been interested.. Cheers and good luck T

I have also never said it was not good and even asked you reconsider your estimate,it is probably ( not garunteed) a very nice instrument to play, but at the end of the day you or I could have a far superior players instrument hand built for less than £2000.And if we are being totally honest then we have to accept Fender CS staff in the main are assemblers of parts not trained Luthiers...I know that given decent quality parts and the facilities I am able to build to at least their standards...unfortunately we drive the market and we inflate the prices.. Ive uploaded the pics you sent to me as they show the most important issues also the others I received when enlarged show what appear to be further issues... T

 23.
Hi Skez I also have owned a Zion Fifty, however it was nowhere near that money,I think I paid £600,I cannot agree them to be that good either..In fact there seems to have been a whole crop of them available of late..for a truly magnificent telecaster I would suggest you try UK Luthier Paul Waters who makes superb instruments..with Juicy Lucy Pups by Ray Cooper..SUPERB...here I go rambling on.... Back to topic... I'm Looking for either a Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout ,speaker size not critical,,or for guitar possibly a Victoria though would also consider Cornells obviously with addition of my cash on the Victoria. But Im willing to listen to offers.. There are amps Ive never tried & maybe not even heard of that you may think would suit my purpose so suggest away,I always listen.. Cheers T
The Heritage H-575 is currently about to be put up for sale....any interest....Shes 20 years old and a minter...all original ...superb player no faults issues or previous repairs, never modified...this is collector grade.....surplus to my collection....better than the ES 175 IMHO... And I may consider selling the Waters tele as I have access to its twin
