2. Yes, now you've fixed them mechanically, it would make sense to reflow the solder joints for a long term fix.
3. Hmm. You might find it comes back. Possibly is a dry joint that is taking one or more of the capacitors out if the circuit. By moving it you've (temporarily) re-made the connection. If it comes back or you fancy a bit of soldering it might be a good idea to resolder their connections on the PCB.
4. It could be faulty capacitors in the power supply.
5. Eminence Legend BP102 10" Bass Speaker Bought a while ago as a replacement for the stock speaker in a Hartke Kickback 10. It didn't really suit the amp so I swapped it back out straight away and hasn't been used since, so it's pretty much 'as new'. Impedance is 8 Ohms. Collection from Trowbridge, Wiltshire or I can post within UK for £5. Manufacturer's blurb: Eminence developed the LEGEND BP102 for professional bass guitar applications in a sealed or vented enclosure. The LEGEND BP102 Works well in single or multi driver designs. Back by popular demand! The Eminence Legend BP102 has been a staple product for many bass guitar wonders over the past 10 years. Eminence has had so many requests for this speaker, they couldn't refuse to put The Legend BP102 back in their catalogue. The BP102 is a favourite for 1x, 4x, and 8x10 cabinets! Don't let the sensitivity fool you, the BP102 speaker will really punch out the bass with authority. It also works great as a mid in PA applicationsor in a three-way bass cabinet. Specification: Nominal Basket Diameter 10", 254mm Nominal Impedance 8 ohm Power Rating 200W Power Rating Music Program 400W Resonance 35Hz Usable Frequency Range 40Hz-2kHz Sensitivity 92 Magnet Weight 38 oz. Gap Height 0.312", 7.92mm Voice Coil Diameter 2", 50.8mm Coil Construction Copper Polyimide Magnet Composition Ferrite magnet Core Details Non-vented core Basket Materials Pressed steel basket Cone Composition Paper Cone Cone edge Composition Cloth cone edge Dust Dome Composition Zurette dust cap Unit Weight 8.9 lbs., 4 kg

10. Yes, could be the nut is too high and you are effectively stretching the string as you fret it. Also, the nut slot could be angled in such a way as the string is making contact only towards the back of the slot (i.e. closer to the tuners). This has the same effect as moving the frets towards the bridge, so will cause the fretted notes to go sharp.
11. Now SOLD - thanks for your interest everyone.
12. TC Electronics BH250 Head Has only had light occasional use. All in perfect working order & excellent condition, with original shipping box. I can't seem to find the user manual, but this can be downloaded from TC's Web site. £140 + £10 shipping, or can be collected if preferred.
13. You might find the truss rod needs a slight tweak if you go heavier or lighter, especially on the lower strings. By the way, on eBay you can be electronic calipers for under a fiver, delivered!

15. Yes, it should be an easy fix - depends on your soldering skills or if you can find someone to solder in a new connector for you. A replacement connector itself should be easy enough to find on eBay or Maplins. I've always found replacing the connector better (and easier) than trying to repair the broken one.
16. Bought a Variax 705 bass from Rick. It was well packed and shipped straight away. Everything was as described. Was a really smooth, straightforward transaction. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
17. I agree - Pop's rosin is definitely better fresh. I try to buy from an online retailer that is out of stock so that they have to order fresh stock from the distributor. In reckon it should be replaced once a year too.
18. Yes, those seem OK apart from the 65V alternative. It isn't safe to go for a lower voltage rating than the original. A higher voltage rating is generally OK, but the capacitors may be bigger and might not fit - it is worth checking the dimensions. On that note, if these are PCB mounting (radial type) check the lead spacing, as this can vary, and ideally you want to match the spacing of the existing components.
