1. Steve Perry, Peter Cetera, Karen Carpenter, Sam Cooke, Chris Rainbow...... all have that certain 'something' for me...
2. Any other trade options?
3.
The Hamer is still with me! I still search regularly for one of those Fernandes MV65s...I think you had two or three at one stage.
Yep, they're pretty rare. I have 3 of them at the moment and they're lush Always looking to add more to the collection - but if I ever let one go I'll let you know....
4.
There's a Charvel version too. Gary has too many good basses.
Cheers mate! Just picked up a fab pointy headstock old Fernandes Thunderbird as well - not unlike your Hamer one!
5.
Fair do's if you EVER wanna shift that mate !!
Cheers Not going anywhere for now though....
6.
Me, Stuart and the new baby.
Great to see the main man there! Sadly I couldn't make it this year to catch up with Stuart again as I was off on tour in Sweden - but glad you got to hang with him. One helluva guy making amazing instruments
7. That is lush. Got other expenses so out of my price range at the moment though
8.
Don't Change Horses was on the album as I recall.
That wasn't the Doobs.... it was Tower Of Power....
9. Fantastic band and one of my all-time fave bassists in Tiran Porter! The Tom Johnston-era Doobs is my fave too. I like the Mike McDonald era but it just doesn't rock like I want it to.... I've been lucky enough to become great friends with Tiran over the last 15 years and have visited him/stayed at his house/studio on a few occasions - a lovely man with a mega bass collection and a sackful of road stories! Re: similar bands - I always thought the track 'Let There Be Music' by Orleans was in a classic Doobie style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEt9PPBGfJA and here it is 'live' back in 1976: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb1fWpxMK0g
10. I've got 2 mega-rare US Hamer Impact basses
11. Mine's arrived..... and it sounds/works great! As usual with these things - 90% of the sounds will never get used but the other 10% sound excellent. I'm looking forward to getting some of the usable patches being created over at Talkbass to enhance its day to day capability....
12.
Picked this up recently. It needs a bit of fettling but still feels very comfortable...
Very nice! congrats Always fancied a green Spector - if you ever fancy letting it go please give me first dibs
13. Apparently mine is shipping this week
14. Paul bought a Curbow from me. Great communications and fast payment meant an easy transaction. Recommended!
15. A legend...... This year is starting so badly. Sadly, I expect the forthcoming years to be a gradual culling of all my faves..... such is the age they are all reaching.....
16. If this had been black & gold I'd be 'biting your hand off' for it....
17. I'm tempted mate..... prob would have bitten you hand off if it was a black or white one (I know, shallow!)
18. GK preamp pedal and Darkglass amp have both piqued my interest.....
19. Darkglass B7K.... pure class! I have a feeling my fave pedal of 2016 will be my Future Impact (when it arrives next month!)
20. Liking this..... as long as it has some way of replicating the 'hitting the rails' growl of my old 400RB & 800RB I'll be sold on it!
21. VERY interested in this.... but will prob wait for the 2nd or 3rd generation in a few years once any problems etc are ironed out...
22. Nice score!
23. Stuart is a legend. A lovely man who I've had the pleasure of meeting on a few occasions..... and one who not only cares about his instruments, but also his customers. The customer service he and PJ provide is second to none!
24.
Personally, I'd pay to see cetera doing a dep in a big band whilst sporting the full Simmons get up!
I'd play Van Morrison's 'Moondance' in full get-up just for you Bilbo
