1. the last 2 MXR dirt pedals (Overdrive and Bass Fuzz Deluxe) didn´t do it for me at all, i believe this new Distortion will be a homerun again. I´m really digging the MXR "Bass Innovations" line up.
2.
Are you the builder? If so, perhaps you could explain the design? Given the awfulness of the Haz labs reissue, i don't hold out much hope, the Q-tron is the closest copy of the Mu-tron sound.
I´m not the builder but i´m very excited about the comeback, i´m on the waiting list for the first 100 units. More details i founds: The new product, aimed at "high end" to begin with, --will use a "Mu-Tron (R)(not my R) engine" in the middle of an audio signal processing system --that allows high range of flexibility in both input, output and bypass modes. --The RANGE of control functions is expanded --and previously "fixed" parameters will now be variable by the musician. --it is "ALL ANALOG" with TRUE GROUND dual Vsupply rails (for you technically inclined musicians).
3. my ingredients for RATM first album sound: MM Sterling > Xotic X-Blender (25% clean) > Catalinbread SFT > Tech21 VT Bass ... done!
4. brothers & sisters, the holy mother of all envelope filters will be coming back soon, very soon: "The Original Mu-Tron III has been out of production since 1980! Don't buy a fake! An AUTHORIZED RE-ISSUE w original MOJO + xtra funk is coming VERY soon!! source: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mike-Mu-Tron/477113722337971
5. i would like to recommend you the following pedals: - Catalinbread SFT - Z.Vex Box of Rock (cheaper: clone) - MXR Bass Overdrive (shipping march 2013) DON´T go for the EHX Bass Big Muff ... worst pedal ever.
6.
I would not ever use a laptop/ipad as my FX unit for live work (I know people who do), latency can be an issue, as can interference, and software crashes mid set are the worst! PABCAK errors are also quite common under pressure of a live show. For live work, where there are no second chances, I prefer to buy solid equipment designed to do one job well, call me a ludite if you will, call me what you like - I won't hear you because my gear will be working properly
i don´t agree ... a laptop based fx-solution can be stable if you do it right. just don´t use a windows based computer, better go for mac osx and strip down all background processes, disable wifi & bluetooth, add a minimum of 4gb ram and use fast ssd harddiscs. with a good sound-interface latency should not be an issue nowadays. i would say my old-school analogue equipment "crashes" more than my digital fx: dying batteries, broken cables, broken footswitches, etc. :-)
7. MuTron III vs Proton? ... i would go for the Proton by 3Leaf Audio, there is a new version of the Proton (new: decay knob). The 3Leaf "Wonderlove" looks also very interesting, but 269 U$. :-( i bought and sold many envelope filters, one of the best i have is the "old" Groove Regulator", but now out of production as far as i know.
8. people say: "the MuTron III is the mother of all envelope filters". As an envelope junkie myself i´m also GASing for one, BUT too expensive. My low-budget solution: i will solder a clone very soon. (layout PDF: http://www.geofex.com/PCB_layouts/Layouts/neutronpub.pdf)
9. Check Catalinbread SFT and run it with 18V instead of 9V
10. my solution: if you don´t use the effect loop on your Q-Tron+ then put a potentiometer-box between send/return ... looks like this:
11. i know, old thread but please tell me/us how you like the Delano Hybrid combination ... worth it? Which preamp electronic is in there? Sonar 2?
12.
Hey there, Totally forgot about this... Yea the item, that i bought through ebay, i never receavied so still fighting to get my money pack for this, as paypal scr£wed me so having to do chargeback through credit card.
would you like to share the name of the seller (so we people are warned)? I also want to purchase the Axe Fx Ultra via eBay.
13. hmmmmm, can´t decide between the new 3Leaf Proton and the MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter .... how would you guys decide?
14.
Took the plunge today and purchased one these, shall be here next tuesday! I am gonna test it for a week then if it is as good as they say, Bye bye Head, X3 Live and Big cab in replacement for this and 2 wedge monitors!
bump ... any news?
15. is that really a Warwick Nobby Meidel bass on that pic as questioned in the thread topic? Any confirm?
16. i´m now at blender #3 .... i had the Boss LS-2 and the Radial BigShot Mix before .... for basic blending they are just fine, BUT you should really take a look at the Xotic X-Blender and look at the features: http://www.xotic.us/effects/x_blender/ The X-Blender is the most important "effect" pedal on my board.
17.
I think your attitude on the Deep Impact is great and really builds the spirit of Basschat. If you could just screw yourself out of another £200 or so I might just oblige .
+1, respect - the seller is a good guy!

19.
I had one and sold it for £75. I regret it so much i'll never shut up about it..
some weeks/months ago one got sold for 1100 U$ .... Muse sucks.

23.
.... our CTO who leads these projects is a bass player ....
Ohh, great - someone from IK Multimedia in the house. First of all i want to say the iRig + AmpliTube for iPhone seems to be a good and innovative idea, BUT allow some criticism: What disappoints me most is that you (IKM) don´t seem to give the bass players too much love with this app, not many options (amps, cabs, special bass effects) for us bass players as i also pointed out in this post. (correct me if i´m wrong with the details) This is a BASS forum and almost non of your 15 posts alone in this thread is bass related, you are only spreading links for and to your company and do your marketing bla bla (which is apparently your job). Don´t get me wrong please but i expect more from your postings since you are related to IKM and could deliver first hand information with bass context. So ... can we expect more bass stuff (bass amps, bass speakers, bass fx) in the app soon? Why not adapt the GREAT Ampeg SVX stuff in AmpliTube for iPhone .... i´m not an software expert but this Ampeg SVX software plug-in are based on algorithms, should not be too complicated to adapt those for iPhone apps. Thanks for listening and waiting for some feedback, cheers!
