  1. Absolutely bloody lovely Limelight Precision. This is not a Fender bass!!! I had this made back in 2016 to be a replica of a 1976 Fender Precision. With an ash body, maple neck, overwound pickups (hand wound by Mark at Limelight), period correct headstock logo and the lightest relic finish. The bass has done probably 200 function gigs and that has really given the nitro finish a much more naturally worn look that the more heavily relic'd basses struggle to emulate. Weighing in at 3.9kg (8lb 9oz) this is a really comfortable bass to gig with and it's like putting on a nice old pair of slippers when you pick it up. The output is really strong and has the classic p-bass sound. Currently strung with a relatively new set of Elixirs but I could change these for an old set of fender flats (with tatty silk) if preferred. Why am I selling? I really really want to be a p-bass guy but i just always end up gravitating back towards Jazz basses. Trade Options!!! Jazz basses only please. I'd definitely be really interested in a Limelight Jazz. I absolutely love the build quality and they just work for me. I'd also happily consider a Japanese Jazz or a USA Jazz with apropriate cash adjustment. Ideally though I'd want either of these with rosewood or maple board and blocks. Price for a straight sale is firm at £850. I think this is fair and I'm in absolutely no rush to sell as this is still great to have around. You are absolutely welcome to come and play this without any obligation to buy. I have some nice amps and make good tea / coffee and there's always biscuits in the tin. I will package it up for postage but that would be for a courier that the buyer has arranged and the buyer takes this option at his or her own risk. I gig lots so am regularly travelling around the country and am more than happy to meet up en route to a gig. Thanks for looking! With flats on: With rounds on:
  2. Yeah I love doing bv's. Like a few earlier posters, my voice is quite bland but I can sing in tune and do some harmonies where needed. It makes such a big difference to the band to have a couple of other members who can sing other than just the singer.
  3. If you only have guitars, bass, kick and vocal mics you should find there's plenty of spare channels. A cheap condenser mic might be even better. I've gigged on iems for years and have never had an ambient mic. The vocal mics pick up lots of ambient noise and even when we used electric drums with no mics I never felt I was missing anything.
  4. What gets mic'd up in your band's stage setup? If there's overheads on the kit already surely you'd just mix that into your mix coming from your aux and use the P2 connected direc to the mixer? If there's no overheads on stage can you use your H6 as a stereo overhead plugged into a channel on your x16 and just mix that into your aux mix? Seems to be overcomplicated trying to work in an H6 between your aux out on the desk and your P2.
  5. Our agents have us doing 3 video shoot days a year. On each day we shoot 3 videos and then they spend weeks tinkering with them to make each new one pretty much identical to the last. I understand the need but find the whole process mind numbingly tedious.
  6. Yes it pairs brilliantly with the Greenboy F112. The Aguilar is very different to the trace but I love it so far.
  7. Really good to hear some of its history. It really is astonishingly loud and is a wonderful sounding thing. I always wanted one because, as a lad, I used to watch a band called the hamsters in various pubs and the bass player from that band had one and his sound was absolutely massive.
  8. I have had cramp in my fingers towards the end of a gig when playing a lot of finger style stuff. Like cramp in sport, there are things you can do to reduce chances of it happening. Being properly hydrated and avoiding salt / caffeine etc prior to gigs can really help. Your symptoms sound much more like cramp than focal dystonia to me. I am completely untrained to make this comment though and would definitely advise seeking proper medical advice if it becomes a frequent thing.
  9. Absolutely wonderful amp. The best Trace Elliot I've ever owned. Sounds absolutely huge in a way that no class d head can. Really good condition with absolutely no issues. £1 per watt but these aren't any old watts, they're old school Trace Elliot Watts. Comes in the flight case. Collection from South Northamptonshire but I gig all over the country so may be able to meet up.
  10. Picked the Aguilar up at 5 this afternoon and it had its first run out this evening at a wedding. Sounded as good as you'd expect.
  11. If it wasn't so far away I'd have this. Glwts.
  12. I've done over 400 gigs with my shure psm300 (with the upgraded receiver pack) and it has been faultless. If mine got nicked I'd buy the same again.

  14. Just bought a pair of RCF subs from Nick. Excellent communication, really helpful with meet up arrangements and a genuinely nice guy to buy from. Thanks Nick.
  15. Myself and the guitarists usually go for a wander around the dancefloor mid song when there's a big guitar solo. Absolutely kills my soul when we vacate the stage and some drunken woman jumps up and starts trying to sing into my mic. She can't hear herself as its a silent stage so she just screams louder. I like my vocals to be loud in my in monitor mix so it can be utterly deafening.
  16. I haven't ever experienced hissing or clipping of any sort in over 5 years of iem use. I was therefore going to suggest people use the Shure PSM300 setup I do until I saw how much the prices have gone up. I paid about £400 including the uprated receiver but they're touching on double that now. That seems utterly insane.
  17. I like loads of bass and kick in my mix and my singer doesn't want much of either. Guitarist wants tons of kick and his guitar but none of the singer's guitar. Drummer wants a balanced mix with more bass. All of us want our own vocals to be pumped in our ears. There's absolutely no way we could ever work with a single mix. Currently using the same mixer as you. It may cost more but ultimately you're saving your hearing and for me that's worth the extra outlay if it means we will stick with it long term. Individuals would soon get hacked off with it if the mix was no good for their needs.
  18. As has always been the case, there is lots of new music and some is incredible, some is terrible and there's a whole spectrum of quality in between. The individual listening gets to decide where on that spectrum they personally want to put each piece of music. To expect it all to please everyone is ridiculous. It's has always been the same and will continue like that until the end of time. My grandparents almost certainly felt exactly the way the op does when I was a teenager. I wouldn't expect mainstream chart to try and cater to my tastes as I get older.
  19. Andy Billups (I may well have spelt that wrong), who I believe is a member here, used thumb picks to great effect in The Hamsters who were my absolute favourite touring pub band as I grew up. It was due to a medical condition and I believe he adapted them so he could use his pick of choice. Absolutely wonderful bass player and the reason I picked up a bass as a teenager.
