  1. I've been using either a micro pog or a OC3 on my board for a few years and I can't say I'm overly pleased with either but seeing as I only use octave on a couple of songs I have lived with them. The micro pog tracks very well but sounds very digital. I don't like it when used along with a clean tone. The OC3 has a bit more depth but doesn't do octave up and doesn't track quite as well. It's not bad though. Currently the Micro Pog is on my board but I like the look of the MXR bass octave deluxe and the COG T65 looks great especially as you can get custom options on COG pedals!
  2. Really enjoy this band, great musicianship a sense of humour

  4. I have just bought an AER amp one. It sounds great and loud for such a small thing. My new favourite amp!
  5. Bump with new price of £1050 and trade option of a small gigable bass amp like the AER or something similar.

  7. Hey! I am selling my Rickenbacker 4003 bass in Midnight Blue. I bought the bass new in june 2007 from Peter Cooks and have used it mainly for rehearsals and recordings but also for a few gigs. The Bass is in good condition but there are a few marks I will mention and I have tried to photograph them as best as I could. The headstock has a few marks on the end and the back of the body has some wear but the bass is structurally sound and the front of the body is really clean and looks great! The strap pins are a bit tarnished the the top horn has some surface marks. I have looked after the bass very well and it has had a recent pro setup and the electronics have been shielded so the bass has very little noise. Included with the sale is the original case, the pickup cover and a pickguardian bridge pickup surround with built in thumbrest. I can ship the bass anywhere in the UK and I will make sure the bass in packed really well. I work for a guitar shop and ship instruments daily so I can get hold of lots of padding and suitable boxes. Collection from Farnham in Surrey is also fine. I am looking for £1050 for the bass including shipping. i believe this to be a fair price for bass taking the wear into consideration and the current price these basses are going for. I would also consider a trade for a small bass amp similar to an AER with cash adjustments. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for reading, here are the photos! 8. I have a rickenbacker and a stingray my main gigging bass is mim P bass. It sounds great and plays really well. Its had a couple of mods but is still a lot cheaper than my other basses. Might just be that Im a P bass man though!
  9. i played an ibanez sr premium today,, the neck was amazing! one of the most comfortable basses i have ever played and with the nordy pickups it sounded great... i have GAS! and before this i have never liked ibanez
  10. like a lot of people i could do with a small loud rig! getting sick of carting my big amp to certain gigs where it seems overkill. a natural body for my p bass would be nice and a really decent short scale would be killer as well!
  11. brilliant basses! i remember my dad getting me a bass for christmas many years ago! was the best christmas ever!
  12. The specs sound good to me! Love those east preamps! I would go for alder, the only time I really go for ash bodies is if Im going for a natural finish as it looks a lot better than natural alder in my opinion. i had an alder p bass that I replaced with an ash body and I didnt notice much difference in the tone. I think most of the tone will be characterised from the nordys and the east preamp. cant wait to see this when its all done!
  13. the last songs i learnt were come on come over by jaco with sam and dave and you know im good by amy winehouse. both songs are for a cover set my band plays once a month at a pub. we usually do our own stuff but its good fun to play these cover sets once a month! both songs are really fun to play!
  14. i think the graphite necks look really awesome! but i love the feel of the original musicman necks, so smooth and they never get sticky. i did have a graphite neck on a jazz bass and it played really well and the bass had a hell of a lot of bite!
  15. ive refinished a couple of basses from thick poly paint to thinner nitro paint and i must admit i cant really tell if their is a difference in the tone of either of the basses. maybe my ears arent as hot as other peoples but i really wouldnt worry
  16. i dont think an octave pedal would be very convincing, especially playing notes that low
  17. I really like the look of those shorty jazz basses. I would get one with delano pickups and in black with rosewood fingerboard... GAS!
  18. Im maple all the way. I have owned a natural ray with a maple neck since 02 and i still think it looks stunning, sounds brilliant and feels so lively!
  19. I had a streamer jazzman and I miss it! there are many different types of streamer. the streamer LX (bolt on neck) and the streamer stage 1 ( neck thru) have a p bass type pickup at the neck and a jazz type pickup at the bridge. the jazzman is similar to the streamer LX (bolt on neck) but it has different pickups. it has a musicman type pickup at the bridge and a jazz type pickup at the neck. i think this is correct. Also there are many more types of streamers such as the streamer stage 2 and signature models www.warwick.de has lots of info on all the models.
  20. I have a ric bridge pickup surround plate with integrated thumb rest from pickguardian. great website and good fella! and i think they would make up any scratchplate if you send them a template. nice tort btw!
  21. ah you found the set! nice one! was just going to post it. thought the outro medley was awesome!
  22. really enjoyed it, was a real treat to hear over the falls and duchess, tommy the cat with a bit of the awakening was amazing and mr knowitall wwas so special! thought the salad fingers graphics on the the spacemen's faces was a really cool touch. would have liked to hear a couple of songs from pork soda , obviously mud and maybe mr krinkle or bob but i realyl cant complain! i had a look at the setlist compared to some of the other dates they have done recently and i think we got a real good set!
