This one was definitely faulty. We plugged it in after trying the Jazz and it was inaudible.

Went to PMT Manchester yesterday with my daughter to try out a couple of basses. A very nice daphne blue Vintera 60s jazz (which for some reason is now about £300 more expensive on the website than when we were there yesterday), and then we were going to try the seafoam green 50's Vintera P, but it didn't work! Really low output, duff pickup or something. Looked really lovely, though.

I admit I was sorely tempted, but not at that price.

I think the value depends largely on what state the neck is in. A genuine useable early ‘70s neck on its own is worth £1k plus.

Wrong answers only please.

This popped up in my inbox earlier. I thought the new price was quite good...

...or has got too close and lost an eye.

Apparently they’re 27% more pointy than a Precision.

I always used the line, “We’ve had some requests…. But we’re going to carry on playing anyway.”
-
It bugs me when someone's trying to sell something and they say, "this bit's broken but it's really cheap and easy to fix!"... why didn't you do it yourself then?
-
What's the weight?
-
I’ve got 43rd Julember. Fingers crossed!

Hi I'm Chesney Hawkes, I hope you're ready for some new songs tonight!
-
"Right before we start tonight, we have an extra bonus for you. Our bass player is going to talk through all the gear he'll be using for tonight's show. This shouldn't take more than 20 minutes, 30 tops."

"Hello Radio 1 fans, we're Royal Blood and really happy to be here!"

Flats are going to save the planet... it's true!

Why don’t you rent some out? That’s quite a popular business so I believe. -

Good point, but then it's a well known fact that suspension bridges are built using recycled roundwounds, so if everyone used flats we wouldn't have any suspension bridges. -
If you don’t play flats then you’re just limiting yourself to sharps and naturals.

Less rubbish than his usual stuff...and some good news

“only difference here from a standard jazzbass wiring is that this has a single tone common to both” (pickups). erm… both my jazzbasses must be non-standard then. Crikey. -
Doesn't say exactly what kind of tone foam he uses. Steer clear.
-
Finally, a job I’d be good at.
-
Encore / Squier?
-
More importantly, what provenance do they have?

Crikey that was quick. Now Andy's simultaneously laughing all the way to the bank and kicking himself for not asking for £25k.
