1. Oh, and the ebony soundhole ring is plastic these days too.
2. I seriously doubt you'll find anywhere with one to try, and remember that even 'The Alien', as the top range ones are called, is now Chinese - built. This has not reduced the the price!
3. Try asking on the Warwick forum, often the quickest way. If not, I have an internal email address from when I won my fretted four last year.
4. Ah, crap. But if it fixes the problem. ..
5. Pic aded to earlier post!
6.
Precision with a Jazz profile neck and a PJ pickup. Best of both worlds.
A Precision Special, in fact.
7. I have a J en art cover I bought on here used but unused, if you see what I mean. For Markbass CMD121H. It's a tight fit, but a great cover.
8. Agathis. I'll put up a picture of mine. Apart from the style of neck (mine is a maple black blocks Jazz), they could be twins! My body came from buying a Squier VM Fretless - yours looks very much as if it has the same origins. EDIT: here's the pic As can be seen, wans't cleaned properly after last gig! Neck is Allparts, string tree = Fender, tuners = Wilkinson HWJB200s. Electronics stock, flat top knobs, Seymour Duncan SPB-2 pickup.
9. P with a J neck. Job done.
10. Played the Globe in Looe with Russell Sinclair and the Smokin ' Locos. Full house, good vibes, not too loud! We'll be back...
11. Great transaction with Russian for my Boss Chorus. Many thanks !
12. Out as a 5-piece tonight, can't wait! If you like some boppin' bluesy goodness, this is it!
13. If that's the type of Squier body I think it is, then that's also a very light bass!
14. Bump for still here - ness!
15. I have been learning loads of old 20s and 30s jazz standards on a bass tuned DGCF which makes it slightly easier when playing with Bb instruments. Today I do it all again in standard tuning!
16. I also think it was the maple cap beck that made the difference. What led me there was the sound made by current USA and Mexican Standard maple board P basses, which seemed snappier to me. All have 2-piece maple necks.
17. Another +1 for Precision tone!
18. Young whippersnapper! Good tip re the gloves, though, will look into that!
19.
I've never understood this claimed distinction between playing covers and playing originals. I just like music.
Snap.
20. Becca Langsford - Big Surprise
21. A lighter bass may also help. I've gone from 9lb to 7lb. Doesn't sound a lot, but the difference in comfort is very marked.
