  1. Hi everyone. Are there any (UK available) alternatives to the discontinued Visual Volume pedal. I'm in need of a volume pedal (ideally compact) with LED level indicators. Thanks in advance
  2. Try Shuker - https://shukerguitars.co.uk/
  3. Worth a trip to Hampshire https://www.taylorviolins.co.uk/
  4. I'd happily pay more though for a print edition as they are great for flights, a quick browse in the car before school pick-up, holiday reads etc. My plan is to go back to early Bassist / Bass Player issues, and read them all again 😂
  5. As per issue 426, the magazine is moving fully online from issue 427. I have loved many many years of Bassist, Bass Player (etc) magazine 'flicking through' with a coffee and a hob-nob. Reading magazines is just not the same online... well, for me anyway.
  6. Lovely stuff. May I ask about weight and string spacing please
  7. For me, I run the following cab wise: Small (Jazz etc) gigs = a single 1x10 (a GR AT110 carbon cab) Med gigs (weddings, functions etc) = a single 2x10 (Mesa Subway 2x10) Larger gigs (concert halls, festivals etc) = two 2x10s (Mesa Subway 2x10) All light and portable, but I always have the mind-set of picking the right cabs for the gig. I am more than happy with the cabs I have, and pretty much settled any "GAS" cab-wise. The above probably doesn't help you directly though.....
  8. £360 collected in July.
  9. Hi Luke, I should be able to help you with this. I am based in Chandlers Ford, so not too far away. My website if you want to have a look: www.gregmudd.co.uk Please send me a PM with details / discuss etc. Cheers Greg
  10. Currently running Kent Armstrongs at the moment since 2007. It's a shame that I can't go wider than 36 really, not without routing the body which I want to avoid. Not exactly sure - I will have a look underneath the pick-ups next time I restring. Barts do a BD which look like they would fit.
  11. Probably Similar to Bartolini Quads, but at this stage I want to see who does that size chassis, as the options seem a little limited for the size.
  12. Apart from Kent Armstrong and Bartolini, I am looking for other manufacturers of Soapbar pickups which are 100mm X 36mm (both can be +/- 1mm). I have had no luck with Aguilar or Nordstrand (unless I have missed something). Thanks in advance!
  13. Looks like a lined fretless to me. Semi-acoustic too!
  14. Nice coloured bass. Overwater style shape. Not sure I like the NS inspired headstock.
  15. If anyone has younger children like me, you may endure the CBeebies program Number blocks. Imagine my excitement when a song (series 1, episode 5) includes the words: "Five strings on a Five String bass"!
  16. I couldn't agree with you more. Whenever possible, I now try to purchase from physical stores rather than online. However, the problem is not always helped by the retailer, especially when stock (say of a pedal, for example) is only available online and no stock is available in your local store. Sometimes the convenience and confidence factors of shopping online is too much of a pull to trump driving x number of miles just to find that the shop is out of stock etc.
  17. Hi. May I please ask if the bridge is recessed into the face of the body, or is it flush with the face?
  18. How far away from Orba are you? Cancel that. Just seen... Madrid
  19. Now £399. Great bass, needs a new home with a Bass Chatter or she's off to eBay.
  20. Same for me. Searches showing Zero.
  21. Reduced to 435
  22. Check that there is a clear / firm bend in the string at the bridge saddle point.
  23. Try your double-glazing keys.....
  24. Looks like Grey 13 so that by the looks of it is used to bypass the EQ if a switch is provided. Perhaps that's why it's loose as no EQ bypass option fitted.
