I own two of the GR AT110 (both 4ohms). Excellent cab, and 'light as a feather'. When I compare to my larger cabs (front ported 210 Mesa Subways), the GR seems much less directional - probably helped by their rear port - this may (or may not) be useful in a pit environments etc. I've used the GR's both as standalone cabs, or stacked - with fretless, fretted 5 string, and upright bass. They handle higher volumes well and the switchable tweeter (3 options) is very useful too. You're most welcome to try if you are passing - I'm based near Winchester, Hampshire.

BEFORE entering into any further dialogue with G4M, I would encourage you to speak with Citizens Advice https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk regarding the potential to engage in a legal dispute with G4M. Ultimately, they sold you a case that designed to protect your instrument, but seemingly has done the opposite. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/claim-compensation-if-an-item-or-product-causes-damage/ " If an item causes damage to your property through no fault of your own, you may have a legal right to claim compensation (also known as claiming ‘damages’). And now a press release via here: https://guitar.com/news/gear-news/john-hornby-skewes-jhs-shutting-down/

I've seen an unofficial notice / rumour that JHS (Dist. for Vintage, Encore et. al) are close to shutting their doors. I hope that this is not the case, as their products are useful conduits for entry-level (+) musicians.

I've been searching for a (discontinued) Visual Volume (Truetone) pedal for quite some time, mainly for pit work and other live situations where I need to 'see' as well as hear my volume. Since that pedal is no longer available, I’ve been looking for a suitable replacement - a volume pedal with LED display, with a small footprint to maintain portability / pedal board space. Recently, I purchased a delightful TunerPress by Hotone. Andertons price-matched Thomann, so it cost me £115, plus a few pounds for postage. This is a suitably compact pedal—measuring 81mm (W) x 162mm (L) x 61mm (H)—and it seems well-built, though only time will tell. Essentially, it's a volume pedal with light-up segments (20ish?) that illuminate based on volume, making it nearly perfect for my needs; I would have preferred LED segments in different colors for quick reference, rather than just a singular blue shade. The built-in tuner is good, though not as precise as my Peterson, but it's suitable for quick tuning in live situations. It also offers various tuning modes and settings—see the link to the manual for details. https://www.hotone.com/products/press/Tuner-Press The added bonus it that it has switchable impedance, making it suitable for both in-line and effects loop usage. Expression out and a switchable buffer too 9V pedal power (-) required. Not overly heavy either - approx 600g.

NS Design CR5, 5 String EUB Electric Upright Bass

The main difference is to do with the 'placement' of fret 12, relative to the upper horn of the bass body. With the Flamboyant, the horn tip is at the 12 fret, with the original, it's approximately at fret 15. This does not trouble me, but it might with some people. The body shape + horn length does determine where the bass naturally wants to 'sit' on your body, but you can of course move the strap to suit.

Spare parts arrived today, with full and clear step-by-step replacement instructions, cleaning wipes, stickers, screen protector, along with the new screen. Although a little fiddly, it's now back to new. Peterson tuners went above and beyond.

A temp solution is to export a Moises mix to MP3 and play on a different device.

Last Friday’s gig took an unexpected turn when a drunk came on stage between sets—someone none of the band knew. I later found out that he had almost certainly stepped on my Peterson pedal tuner, cracking the plastic screen. Thankfully, the LCD beneath wasn’t damaged. I reached out to Peterson’s customer service, and they were excellent—sending me a replacement screen free of charge. It’s a reminder that for every bad experience, there’s often a good one right around the corner. Peterson gear may be pricier, but their quality and customer service make it worth every penny.

On some pedals, take the base plate off and flip it over before screwing back on. This has worked for me on some pedals.
