1. tell her you found it at cash converters but seriously... i am looking forward to seeing this one completed.
 2.
That's a quality bass ! Being more of a knackered Fender user i'd be way too scared to gig something so nice !!!!
me to!, especially with the type of places i gig, thats what the old ibanezGSR200 is for , i've been using the shuker in the studio exclusively.
 3.
Had a look at the Shuker site. They're really nice looking basses. Would you recommend? Do they do all models L/H? Which model have you got?
No question i would recommend Shuker, best bass that i have ever played!, Theres a quite a few Shuker owners on this site, and 1 very lucky Dood who has an endorsement. All Shuker basses are available L/H no extra charge. take a look at my bass HERE
 4.
TI think some of the QC/final fit on the Rockbasses may still be done in Germany IIRC.
they are now.
 5. well i've had my share of Pbass copies, switched to warwick and have recently added a rather nice shuker Jazz to my collection...its so frustrating seeing all those basses in the shop and not being able to have a proper go (you don't get a proper feel for a bass holding it upside down)
 6.
Another lefty here. There's more on here than I thought there would be tbh. I didn't know you could get left-handed basses and guitars when I started playing so I simply learnt to play a right handed bass upside down. I just flipped the thing over. It's worked out great for the last 17/18 years so I'm not changing it now. It makes getting past the 15th fret a real pig (because of the strap) but I'd have never been able to play a right handed bass in a "righty" way.
its an interesting style confuses the hell out of me though
 7.
Guitar Guitar??? Who are they. Do they have a web site?
GuitarGuitar
 8. i own rockbass corvette 5 (passive) it plays really well for a 5 stringer, really fast neck, mines is one of the older models which had a few QC issues, particularly the input jacks and wiring however i believe warwick have this under control now.
 9. another lefty here, when i started to play, i tried to learn to play right handed as i was aware of the problems when it came to getting gear, it just didn't take so i started to learn left handed not looked back since. it is frustrating about the lack of gear out there but i think it has got better in recent years guitar guitar for example actually do a pretty good selection of lefty guitars and basses, The extra 15-20% some manufacturers take is annoying to say the least, however they choose to justify it.
 10.
Lovely example! I'd like one in Ocean Blue with Silver Hardware. What's the betting It'll cost an arm and a leg? (semi-custom ahoy!) One is next on my hitlist, but I fear it's a long way off.
not as much as you think, theres not a custom shop charge, you only pay for the custom options, i would reckon that your custom options, would cost you about £100 extra.
 11. welcome to basschat whykno!

 17. and he's answering questions! i dunno this seems to good to be true, to be honest, its half the price of a standard new SS1, and the maple on on this one looks like 3A to me.
 18.
Thanks for the input, guys. Well, 5 or 6 days since I emailed, I've heard nothing. I rang the workshop today and got no answer. I rang Jon's Mobile and got no answer, left a message. I know everyone's said how great his customer service is. I just wish I could see some of it. I appreciate he has a lot on, but I find it frustrating that I pay him sight unseen £1000 deposit, and it takes over a month for him to confirm it's received, and I haven't heard anything since (by the way, it was only me phoning that that got the receipt confirmation). I'm sure I'll be happy with the bass. I'm just not too happy right now. Not the best experience for my first ever custom. Cheers Mike
I know how you feel mike, was in a similar situation with mine. i never once spoke to Jon on the phone. everything was done via email sometimes it was a few weeks before he replied to my emails, but generally within a couple of days. But what i will say is that its worth it in the end. What Jon needs is an apprentice or someone to deal with the admin stuff.
 19. Welcome to Basschat GSB, Get some pics up in the "bass porn" thread.
 20. Hey Cai, welcome to basschat,
 21.
This bass has an understated beauty and the bonus of being left handed. I wont ask if it will ever be for sale as refusal often offends. The leds are gorgeous.
again thx for the comments folks, like i said before on the darkside its simply brilliant. Although i had a rough idea of what i wanted and how i wanted it to turnout, I didn't interfere much (honest!) i left it in the capable of hands of Jon. It may be a fair long time away but my next bass will be a shuker. Steve was it yourself that was getting the lefty ACG? Hows it coming on?
