Le Chat Noir Posted August 8, 2010 Share Posted August 8, 2010 I'm looking for something specific for a custom project I'm engaged in. Without going into the whys or wherefores, suffice to say I wish to route the output of two individual strings to a separate jack, or perhaps even a jack for each string. Something like the pickups on a Fender Mustang might work for capturing the two strings together, but ideally I'd like individual pickups for each string! I've found a couple of makers of individual string pickups on the net, but one was from a strange Japanese company and the other is a guy in America whose shop is closed for now due to flooding in Nashville! Aftermarket Mustang bass pickups are also seemingly impossible to find. Anyone have any suggestions for somewhere I can get one/two-string pickups, preferrably here in the UK? Cheers! I have considered piezo saddles, seems like a good option if they actually sound good, has anyone actually used any of the piezo saddle systems? Thoughts? They kind of need a high impedance to work properly so a buffer is necessary, if you want individual, then you need a buffer for each. Note separation is quite important for the purposes I have in mind. What would be the easiest way for me to get just my lowest two strings piezo'd?
