I remember these from the 80s, weird looking things but strangely wonderful too. Want a different tone? Just move the pickup!
Bassassin
I think Mr Happy Jack might consider a punt on that one... It's on my "one of these days" list, along with a Westone Quantum... Jon.
Happy Jack
Bones is running the Tricorder over it for me at the moment, Mr. Spock.
Sibob
"Rail Bass" I was getting excited, i thought it was a bass that ran on depleted uranium rather then 9v batteries!! Si
Jean-Luc Pickguard
Is that the original pickup? I recall the rail having a covered pickup. (but my memory could be faulty)
SJA
the singer of the band I quit a month ago hated the Hohner B2A I used at rehearsals, and was always bugging me to get a more retro-looking bass than even my Warmoth p-bass, I should have got a Westone Rail just to piss him off! bassmandan
I've got one of these badboys! Don't use it very often, but it always prompts loads of attention when I do. It's actually a really nice sounding bass, a blank canvas so to speak.... bit weird to play though, with nothing under the strings. oh yeah, and mine's a covered pickup JLP, guess your memory's not faulty after all! I don't know if it'll go for 150 though... bit rich for my pocket... Is it my imagination or have Westones been fetching more recently? There was a Thunder I in light oak going for £150 start price recently..did it sell?
stevebasshead
Would make a canny travel-bass with a small headphone amp or Tascam bass trainer...
