Just picked up a Musicman Stinray SUB that was going for £99.99. But as money was tight I swapped my secondhand Peavey Cirrus BXP for it, and walked out the door with an American made bass £60 and a cheap set of strings. I still can not get over my lucky find.

Yes it was from a Cah Converters shop, & not stolen. When I walked into the shop & saw the headstock and then the price I just had to get it. I have taken some quick photo's on my phone and will try and load them later. I can not belive that I got an American made bass for less than the price of either a Jim Deacon or Squier Affinity P bass. I hate to admit it but I've never been mad about the Musicman Stingray until now, my main bass love is my Ric 4003 which only cost my girlfriend £650 11 years ago.

I am pleased with myself today.

Thank you Gentlemen for your kind remarks, it may be a while if I have the same luck again. And my nickname is Lucky and has been since I was a young boy, now I'm almost 43. I hope that it does not turn out to be stolen, sorry to hear about your Tobias bass.

Who said a what now? HUGE, HUGE, score! Proving that bargains can still be had and not everyone is completely clued up on values (I bet the finish threw them off the trail a bit). Now hands up who's going to CC in the next few days just for a browse, just in case?

Nice find!

My little bro used to work in a record shop, with a cash converters two doors down the road. His manager used to get regular calls from the boss at CC, who oftentook delivery of celephane wrapped CDs, just to check if the record shop was 'missing' any stock. And most times, it was.

:)

Standard 'Ray p/gs fit, so the likes of WD Music, etc, are your next port of call.

Try strings 'n' things, the UK distributor for musicman basses, you can order an official stingray PG from there. The WD ones aren't as likely to fit correctly. I had a musicman SUB though, i can confirm that the stingray scratchplates do fit. In fact it was the same colour as yours, 5 ply black looked really good on it :)
