Post your reccomendations and questions about power supplies for your effects pedals. I currently have a Dunlop DC brick cos it has 18v outputs for one of my pedals but i found this : [attachment=291:powerpump.jpg] [url="http://www.guitareffectspedals.com/power-all.html"]http://www.guitareffectspedals.com/power-all.html[/url] the Godlyke Power Pump which looks like it would do the same job. but having the godlyke i could save space on my pedal board and have more overall current available 1.7A. Which is a worry given several of the boss pedals require 300mA or more!! I've stumbled on a "SunPower" 9V supply with 1.67A output (very similair technical spec to the Godlyke PSU) All I need to do is put a 2,5mm DC plug on the end with reversed polarity and it should work a treat! free power - great! I've dealt with SunPower once - local UK techie was very good, knew the products of the top of his head - enough to let me know I'd ordered the wrong supply for work which is why it ended up in the parts bin in my house! What you need to be aware of is the TOTAL current draw from all the effects units in the chain. I couldn't see any figures for the MXR blowtorch other than 18Vdc so not sure what current (mA) it draws. Any of the PSU's like the Godlyke or Diago can power several pedals at once, having a pedal running at 18Vdc rather than 9Vdc shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't have loads of other pedals from the same supply. There are a lot of variables to consider but I reckon either PSU mentioned above would fit the bill - the godlyke seems to already have an 18Vdc adapter on the market. The earlier question of Hum from the step up (18Vdc) adaptor... shouldn't be an issue as I reckon the adapter will be using solid state components rather than wound coils given the size! There is no noise or hum that is generated from the power supply. That is to say, the level of noise from the pedals is the same as it is with batteries. The power supply [i]adds[/i] no hum or noise. Clearly, if a pedal is intrinsically noisy, as a fuzz pedal may be, then it will not eliminate that noise. However, it won't make it worse or add hum as some cheap power supplies do. I have a Rothwell Stompjuice for 6 of my pedals and a 12V computer power adaptor for my DHA Dual Custom. It all sounds great until I try to take a DI signal out of the back of my preamp - ground loop! There's no ground loop out of the DI in my pedalboard but it is frustrating.
