AinsleyWalker Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) I've had a MuTron MicroTron IV on my board for years, it's great but I've finally had enough of the stupidly bright LEDs. Anyone know anything about replacing/adjusting LEDs? Thought I'd ask here before I go back to work and can ask some technicians. And Happy New Year 👍 Edited January 1 by AinsleyWalker 1 Quote
SimonK Posted January 1 Posted January 1 My keeley compressor has a similar problem (also blue) so I've put some masking tape over the LED. You can still see when it is on, but can also make out the settings. Otherwise simply open it up and solder on a different LED? 2 1 Quote

Yeah I may get some replacement LEDs, if that's the easiest solution (other than tape etc). I wasn't sure if they could be internally adjusted. Will do some reading into what kind/rating etc LED will be best. Edited January 1 by AinsleyWalker Quote
Geek99 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Just use tape - add layers till you get the desired effect 1 Quote
itu Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Paint pen, nail lacquer... extra resistor in series with the LED. A trimmer would let you dial in the right amount of light. Edited January 1 by itu 1 Quote

ped Posted Friday at 09:01 Posted Friday at 09:01 These are good as long as you have room around the LED. They also do simple white ones. https://shop.warwick.de/en/rockboard-by-warwick-mounting-accessoriesrockboard-jewel-led-damper-small-defractive-cover-for-bright-leds-5-pcs. 1 2 Quote
tauzero Posted yesterday at 02:13 Posted yesterday at 02:13 The trouble with doing anything electronic about the LEDs is that you're doing something electronic about the LEDs. If they're mounted flush to a board, you may have to wreak a certain amount of havoc to introduce a series resistance. And if the limiting resistor is SMD, that's even more of a nightmare. This is one case where addressing the symptom rather than the cause is the best (or at least simplest) course o0f action. 1 Quote

And Happy New Year 👍 I used to have this pedal and that was my main gripe! Lsyers of electical tape worked very well and mean tno modifications needed. The Markbass compresore had the same (albiet a different colour) issue! Luckily you can but the tape to match the LED colours 🤭 Quote
