Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I've had my eye on getting a StewMac fret kisser for a while, however I wasn't keen on the $100 + postage etc cost last time I looked, however at the moment StewMac is having a sale. I've just ordered the fret kisser plus a fret end dressing file for around £60 inc shipping. I might be surprised with additional charges when it comes in, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. 1 1 Quote
Musicman666 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 (edited) yep ...i got that deal ... that fret kisser is such a great tool, i have used it a few times, only wish i had bought it years ago. The file is quality too. Edited October 28 by Musicman666 Quote

tauzero Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Also ordered a fret kisser. Just have to see whether I can rise above my normal level of incompetence at using luthier tools. 1 Quote

I can't imagine importing stuff directly from the US at those prices when there are all the tools you need made just down the A37! 1 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted November 1 Author Posted November 1 A fret rocker doesn't do the same job as a fret kisser. They look similar, however the fret kisser has a recessed diamond file in the centre of each edge. Quote
Woodinblack Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Ah, sorry, didn't know that, I just use the file or a polishing block to do that. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 Just received my order. It appears to have come from Sweden rather than Ohio and there were not charges to pay. The tools look to be top quality and it only took eight days from ordering to delivery. Quote
fretmeister Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Balls. Prices back up. Wish I'd spotted this earlier. Quote
