Cjay9 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Newbie here, I don't even own a bass yet! Looking forward to learning as much as possible, and maybe finding a suitable first bass guitar. Any suggestions will be appreciated. 👍 1 Quote

HowieD72 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Welcome @Cjay9 First bass guitar...............that's a tricky one. We all have our favourites & preferred brands etc. First recommendation I would say is, go to all your local music shops & try out what they have to offer. Then you should get an idea on what feels best for you & what sound you like. Let me know how you go! 😎👍 2 Quote

I have been listening to music and watching videos a lot recently. I can already tell that this particular rabbit hole is deep! 👍 1 Quote

But that's another good thing you're doing, watching some of your favourite bass players and checking out what they use. I found though, all the bass players I like, I never gelled with the basses they use. They all use Precision and Jazz Basses and my go to and favourite is active Warwick basses. So yeah, definitely try out a few and see what sounds good to your ears and what feels good in your hands! 👍🏽 1 Quote

Marc S Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Welcome to the world of bass. As has already been said - try as many as you can... they can differ so much from one another, and the same models can even play very differently when set up in a different way (or not properly). Quote
