FS: Fender MIJ 62RI/Allparts 70'S Jazz Bass £600 - *SOLD* £800 Whitstable

A recent acquisition/bitsa that while I'd love to keep for those odd Jazz Bass moments and for a specific project that we're running mid-2026. I'm selling because both @silverfoxnik and @Hellzero have been very naughty and listed items of bass gear that I used to own that at this point in time I need back more than a Jazz Bass. 

 

Body/PUPs/circuit etc Fender MIJ, neck Allparts MIJ with Fender vintage 70's tuners. Have a rather rubbish hard case that won;t get the bass to gigs but will get it safely to you, so courier and option. These pics are poor quality is it's dark now, but I'll take some better more detailed pics in the morning. 

 

How does it sound? Like a Jazz with flats, nice (I've some rounds I can put on if flats ain't your thing). How much does it weight? I'll check scales in the morning but it's certainly not at the heavy end.

I’ll take better pics this afternoon but FYI the colour in the second pic (back) is most representative, the first pic makes it look a darker and stronger colour 👍

Must admit that was my main reason for putting it together! It's a stunner in the flesh, and I've got the ashtrays for it somewhere also, which really do add to the vibe. Once it stops raining I'll get some better photos (probably around March 2026)

1. Need to thin the collection: against logic and probably against Basschat rules, the whole point of a collection is that you collect the items in it, it's not called a 'thinection'
2. Don't need another bass: again, against Basschat rules, you always need another bass, every member of Basschat always needs another bass
3. I don't really need a Jazz Bass: how can you possibly know that you don't need a Jazz Bass if you don't have a Jazz Bass?

Just to clarify this is a Fender MIJ 62RI body and an Allparts (also MIJ) 70s-style Jazz neck.

 

Allparts in my experience are at or above Fender USA quality - not quite a good as Warmoth but a significant step up from for example Mighty Mite and Fender MIM - and this neck is no exception.
