la bam Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 (edited) Hi all, I've picked this up as a doer upper. Needs a thorough (to say the least) clean, a new pot/stalk, and all the stickers removing. And a strap button. And a set up. Does anyone know what it is? I was thinking a bass collection, or perhaps an sx? But the D tuning peg is higher than A on the other side? Its a shallow but wide ish neck. Confused. Feels so so light, seriously the lightest I've ever had, and sounds very nice. Edited October 1, 2025 by la bam 1 Quote
lemmywinks Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Tanglewood Rebel? Think you can see part of the logo on the body beneath the sticker. 7 Quote
lemmywinks Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 (edited) Different logo to most of them, assume it's an older one? Another one like yours here with better pics: https://reverb.com/uk/item/45374901-secondhand-tanglewood-rebel-4-string-bass-trans-purple My old guitarist had one of these and it weighed a ton for the size of the thing, actually made it quite unwieldy so count yourself lucky you got a light one! Yeh, that looks like it! A few differences, but could be an older model. It is ridiculously light though, like lighter than a guitar light. Quote
la bam Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 Yes, you're right, I can see the T of logo now you mention it. Quote
Sean Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 It'll be interesting to see how that cleans up. Quote

And white spirit, meths, or isopropyl alcohol (whichever you prefer the taste of) to get any gummy residue off. NB: for external application only. Contents may settle during transit.
