Though his drunken antics, during the break after the first set, he was banned by the landlord and escorted off the premises by a bouncer. I had to negotiate with the landlord to get him back so he could finish the gig. Conditions were that he had to ditch his stash and could only have a soft drink for the rest of the night and that unless we replaced him, we'd never play that pub or the other one they owned again. We never again played that venue (or the other one they owned) with that line up, but every cloud... Those were decent venues and we didn't want to lose them, so the other guitarist and I put together a two hour acoustic set of material and ended up getting as many gigs as the full band. The next stage after this when putting together the next full band was me deciding to take on bass duties full time, which led me to finding BassWorld and the rest is history. Not only didn’t we get asked back, he asked us if we’d accept £100 to stop playing and go away. Quite proud of that! After how long? I played a pub in Worthing where, after figuring we needed to watch our volume, we were asked to turn down after the first number. When they made the same request after the second number, we were asked to stop playing and got the full fee. 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago It was after about 20 or 30 mins - it wasn’t helped by the fact it was snowing outside so the customers were all outside playing snowballs. New guy just wanted to close up as only people left inside was us. 1 Quote
Bluewine Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago "Why Didn't They Go Back" We had a disastrous "bar gig" a couple of months ago. Bad acoustics , not much of a crowd, out in the " boonies" , long commute and the crowd that was there had no interest in us. On the way home we decided we would cancel the August 16th booking. I guess we never went through with canceling the gig. We go back next Saturday for more torture. Blue 1 Quote
