Kiwi Posted July 19 Posted July 19 @Raslee and @RaNoFuNkY mentioned they would be interested in a narrow SR4 neck with a 38mm nut (and there are some wooden necked versions out there in the wild.) Kiwi Posted July 22 Author Posted July 22 Would you like to put a deposit down and get assigned an order slot in the first batch? Quote

matbard Posted July 22 Posted July 22 So the fingerboard is 7.25” or 9.5”? also, the truss rod is a bullet type (“pre-EB”)? Quote
Kiwi Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 Sorry for the late reply Mat, it's 7.25" but if that changes for any reason, I'll post it on here. 9.5" is a typical Fender radius. Quote
Sparky Mark Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Why does a graphite neck need a truss rod please? I thought it would be rigid enough without one, like the pre EB Musicman Cutlass 1 basses? Quote

If you have ever owned a MM Cutlass bass, you will understand intimately why graphite necks can benefit from truss rods. There is also the matter of player set up preferences. Some players like a bit of fight in their instruments and a rounder tone, all of which can be provided by higher action. 1 1 Quote
Raslee Posted yesterday at 05:13 Posted yesterday at 05:13 (edited) @Kiwi, as you know I am keen for one of these and would quite like the mop inlays too. Are you looking for deposits? If so can you fire me your details - thanks buddy. Edited yesterday at 05:14 by Raslee Quote

Russ Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago @Kiwi What's the headstock shape, standard MM style? Also curious as to whether the neck length, size of the heel, etc would be compatible with a Sire Z3... Quote

If you have measurements from the neck heel of your Sire, I can let you know about fit. Thanks to @Raslee for securg the first slot. 1 Quote

Thanks to @Raslee for securg the first slot. I don’t have a Z3 (yet) - was thinking of picking one up as a modding project, specifically to put one of these necks on! Quote

It's a great idea, I'm not personally keen on the lower horn shape but they do sound fantastic. If you can get hold of some measurements for me, I'll definitely be able to provide you with an answer.
