I am the owner of this cab. All I was trying to do was sell it on for a fair price….

 

Genuinely do not understand how the sale can have generated such negativity. If you don’t like it, ignore it and move on. Why start a thread, for the world to see, thats sole purpose is to criticise and mock….

This is pretty tame sauce compared to what goes on on social media.  I just read through it and to be honest I think most of it was pretty relaxed.  I think you're making a bit too much of it - don't be precious.  If you ignore your hurt feelings and actually read the thread, you'll find advice in here - for instance you'd get a better price if you redid the covering.  How is that negative?

 

Here's some direct negativity for you - I think the cab looks bloody awful.  So what?  What of it?  Why do you care what I think?  If you like it, you're not wrong.

Ripping the Tolex off of one of those awful peeling BF cabs is possibly the most relatable cab-related action i've seen.

Hi @broken_strings - maybe you should have listed it as a "heavy relic" - then you might have doubled your asking price 

 

To be honest, at one point I almost gave in and ripped the Tolex off mine too (see earlier post about peel and my addiction to it).  I was just lucky that I live fairly near BF, so was able to take them back to Alex to get them fixed.

All these should have been recalled IMO, they cost far too much money to be looking like a ratty old rehearsal room cab after a short while. Some of them were an absolute state.

It might be a lot harder than you imagined.

 

You need to be careful not to take away plywood in your enthusiasm. The individual plys are very slim.

 

Strip the glue rather than sand it.
