myheadhz Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Strange query, but I play in a post-punk group that leads me to generate some strange sounds out of my bass. I want to explore some more strange effects, and I'm looking into getting something with a reverse delay on it. Alot of the info online is quite scattered (and expensive!) though. Does anyone have any suggestions for a budget reverse delay that isn't rubbish? Thanks Quote
LukeFRC Posted May 24 Posted May 24 would you find a use for a hx one or something if the reverse delay doesn't work out? 1 Quote
thumbo Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Although not a budget option, the Source Audio Nemesis is a great pedal for strange sounds, including reverse delay. 1 Quote
HoorayForAnonyms Posted May 25 Posted May 25 (edited) TC Electronic Flashback delay has a lot of flexibility. Reasonably cheap second hand. Edited May 25 by HoorayForAnonyms 2 Quote
simonlittle Posted May 25 Posted May 25 If it’s mainly reverse delay you’re after, even the more recent Boss delays has reverse. Someone on here is selling a trio of them. The DD7 and DD6 definitely have reverse delay. They’re also handy as basic loopers… 1 Quote

I've heard alot of good things about the Nemesis - it's just the price that kills me. I might try my luck getting hold of a second hand one sometime in the future. 3 hours ago, HoorayForAnonyms said: TC Electronic Flashback delay has a lot of flexibility. Reasonably cheap second hand. This sounds great! I've seen some second hand ones about but hadn't got around to checking what they were like quality wise. Thanks for the vid, appreciated! Quote
paul_5 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I've got some lovely reverse delay patches on my Line 6 M5 - these can be picked up for peanuts these days and punch way above their weight - the only downside is that they're bigger than a single pedal. 2 Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) The reverse delay model in the old Zoom G1on, G1Xon, B1on, B1Xon, MS-50G, MS-60B and MS-70CDR is pretty damn great, actually. Edited May 29 by Baloney Balderdash Quote
BabyBlueSound Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) I just bought the JHS flight delay on a sale from Andertons and LOVING it. It's still on offer today! edit: sorry just realising you said "budget", well I guess £200 on sale is not that, but I think still worth considering. Note that the reverse has a few pops and clicks in it which is considered normal, it's a... feature of the original circuit. But it sound pretty amazing otherwise. dudewheresmybass Posted May 29 Posted May 29 There's a decent reverse delay on the Marshall echohead. Tapable, and fairly easy to find. Quote
mcnach Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Blatant plug... I just happen to have a 2-channel Joyo delay which does reverse for sale on the market place https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/512155-joyo-d-seed-digital-delay-with-2-channels-£45/#comment-5474799 Quote
