What will a tariff war do to instrument prices ?

Bizarrely, I'm more concerned about the prices of strings. We've seen the decent brand prices rise quite a bit over the last few years, expect it'll keep on going.

 

Maybe it's time to get some flatwounds.

I'd be looking at Newtone. British made strings that seem to get good reviews.

...but where does the steel come from?  We get a lot of it from Europe but how will those trade deals progress if we don't side with Europe?
