The string spacing on the two string is slightly "challenging" at the dusty end, isn't it? But that three-stringer is sweet.

 

It's almost as if one of the Cabbage Patch Kids grew up and became a luthier.

Can't help but wonder what that 2-string sounds like with all four pole-pieces aligned with one string.

 

Could you put one (or more) of the poles slightly out of phase with the others and have an on-board fuzz/distortion sound?

I suspect not. Although the instruments featured above are erm, unusual, they appear well-made. The maker may be barking, but he seems to know how to screw things together.

 

I wonder what it is about the bass that causes so many to think they can build a better mousetrap. Doesn't seem to happen as much  with other instruments.

Because all the guitar making loonies are casting bodies in concrete or embedding litter and lego in epoxy resin to make boat anchors.
