bassmayhem Posted July 14, 2023 Share Posted July 14, 2023 Our band is planning to buy a new smaller and lighter PA system, and we have thoughts about the LD Systems MAUI 44 G2, or rather a pair of them. I haven't had the opportunity to try one, but wonder if anyone here at BassChat has experience with this system. We are a five piece band playing some serious venues with PA in house, but for smaller places and stages, it would be neat with a small footprint rig. Boodang Posted July 15, 2023 Share Posted July 15, 2023 I can't comment on the Maui, although it does look a good solution for small venues. We did however buy the LD Icoa 15a speakers and they've been great, so a thumbs up for LD with our limited experience of them. Did a small outdoor gig (around 150 people) and the Icoa handled the FoH duties no worries. Was particularly impressed with the reproduction of the kick which sounded like it was coming out of a bin rather than just a ported cab. BassBunny Posted July 15, 2023 Share Posted July 15, 2023 We had a pair of Maui 11's for years. I know it's not the same beast but the technology is the same. They were amazing and handled everything we threw at them. Five piece band with a k/b player, eight piece with brass section, no problem. Dad3353 Posted July 15, 2023 Share Posted July 15, 2023 If there's any doubt, could you not hire the rig for a month or so, to try it out in your own environment..?
