D & G string woes

Hey guys 

 

I have a Gibson thunderbird . Orange terror 500 amp and the OBC115 orange cab , the problem i have is the D and G string sound crap , tinny and lost , i have the roto sound roundwounds 45-105 quite new , i am quite new to playing but i have no idea what to do , the E and A string sound awesome then the D and G are total opposites :(

Possibly you need a good set up and your pickups adjusted.
you can do this quite easily yourself with information from you tube without doing damage, just be careful if you get into the truss rod adjustments don’t force it.

Reckon you're on the money there Mr Bunion sir. A good setup solves many woes

Raising the pickups just on that side, and maybe lowering them on the E and A side should help balance them out.

 

And possibly drop the bass side slightly as well.
