Edit: need to move on 1 of my 2 Ricks. This OP features my  2019 fireglo 4003 beauty, which weighs a more than acceptable 9.3 9.0 pounds (4.08kg). Jetglo 4003S bass details a few posts down. My 4003 plays very slickly with new 40-100 DR Pure Blues strings installed. Comes with Rick hard case in good used condition. A few minor knocks visible in pics (tip of headstock; rear underside edge; and small [2cm ish] patch of buckle rash, not through the wood) but none visible except very close up.

I have been A/B'ing this with my jetglo 4003S and come to the conclusion I marginally prefer the latter due to its carved, rather than slab, body. But this bass has a nicer, slicker neck, so its a toss up really between the two. Collection from SW13 London (south of Hammersmith Bridge) or I can probably sort delivery at cost (will need a packing box, which I don't currently have) with UPS (£25-30?)

Sale strongly preferred at this point as I am trying to keep bass collection count down.

Also, sorry to our EU brethren (I didn't vote for B...t), its a UK sale only.

One of my two Ricks has to go. Its a really close call as to which I would prefer to keep between this and my 2021 jetglo 4003S (worth maybe £1650-1700), so if anyone is after the latter I might sell that instead and keep the fireglo 4003. Here is me playing the jetglo 4003S.

  • Clarky changed the title to 2019 fireglo Rick 4003 (£1799) or 2021 jetglo Rick 4003S (£1600)

Details on 4003S (£1600 plus delivery):

Bought new from BassDirect in January 2022, its a 2021 edition 4003S (meaning vintage style knobs and unvarnished fretboard) in good condition jetglo. If I am being picky there are a couple of tiny, shallow indentations/blips in the finish and the black Rickenbacker logo on TRC has slightly rubbed off (from when I removed it to adjust truss rods), otherwise it looks great. Also, for full disclosure, the jack socket is quite tight so the bass lead needs to be pushed in quite hard to 'click' or remove (simple 2 minute fix to ease spring for those who are inclined, I couldn't be bothered as it works fine and actually made me feel more secure when playing.)

Weighs 4.2kg/9.4 pounds

Will be sold with original hard shell case and fitted Rickysounds pickup surround bezel (£45) - the chrome pickup cover is safe in the case. Pics show befire and after bezel fitting.

£1,600 collected from SW13 or UPS delivery at cost (£25-30?). UK only

Someone needs to go to SpecSavers!

But seriously, I blow with the wind from one day to the next as to which I prefer. Anyone want to make me a very near offer on either bass?
