So plenty to learn, but looking forward to the challenge.

Some great tunes there.

Here's a setlist I've been given to learn for a wedding gig in March...

Sister Sledge - He's the greatest dancer
David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes
Pulp - Common People
Blondie - One way or another
Hall & Oats - Maneater
Electric 6 - Gaybar
Foreigner - Cold as Ice
Ian Dury - Hit me with your rhythm stick
The Kinks - All day and all of the night
The Knack - My Sherona
Rick James - Superfreak
10 cc - Dreadlock Holiday
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

I'm pretty stoked with those tunes...
Great lists both.

Best of luck with Rythmn Stick though. Our band want to do it, but just watching the vid of it gives me a nosebleed. Luckily the (girl) singer would be hard pushed to cover Ian Dury so I may be off the hook.
;)

I can play it, but the challenge is in getting it to sound relaxed while trying to keep it well intonated on my cheapo fretless Yamaha.

We do the James song ( easy - E A B all the way through ) and Dakota, which currently seems to be our closing, give-everybody-in-the-band-a-namecheck number. Not hard either, but I need to work out a very short solo in the repeat-to-fade bit, for when the singer says "...and Chris on bass...". If you have any ideas...

Worked on the three james tracks last night.
They all seemed very straight forward, infact Getting Away With It was a good lesson in disipline. It's just four chords repeated over and over and to make it more interesting I initially started putting in little runs etc. But fairly quickly realised it was better just playing the roots and nailing the timing.

It's surprisingly difficult sometimes to keep things simple and not try to "improve" it. ;)

Great set list and fortunately quite a few easy learners ( Valerie, All The Small Things, Yellow, Dakota, Teenage Kicks, Twist and Shout.....and I am sure a few more )
