dot marker material

I know you can buy white plastic rod from places like Stew mac but it'll take forever to come and cost 3 times it's value in postage.

I want to make new side dot markers for a fenderish fretless and wondered if anyone can think of anything available from local shops that might do the same job.

Thats a neat idea, I'm just contemplating the same issue with the 'Baker at the moment.
In the past I've got Dot Rods from Small Wonder Music, who also supply various inlays

I was just looking for something a bit different. Seems hardly worth it when you only want to order 6 inches of white plastic rod.
Try a model shop? Back when I used to glue bits of plastic together as a hobby, you used to be able to get various plastic sections in lengths -- I'm pretty sure round white rods were among the available bits.
+1. primarily the same sort of stuff. If you have time on your hands, you can get the hollow metal rods from these places, and stuff them with plastic rod material or wood and make markers with metal rings.
