Sounds like a pretty awesome pedal. Definitely on my list of fuzzes to try out, once I start expanding my board again. Along with the Supercollider, Redeye, Tonebender Bass Fuzz, Green Stache, Mess Drive Hybrid and Bass Big Muff. I can sense it's gonna be an expensive mission that one. Dosi Y'Anarchy Posted January 30, 2009 Share Posted January 30, 2009 godDAMNIT i just got a Green Stache (GGG-tuned Big Muff) which is VERY similar apparently (the bluebeard apparently being based on an older, discontinued version of the GGG-tuned big muff kit - could be wrong tho) I paid more for the stache (£90) and I think its excellent, but damnit - a real bluebeard AND its cheaper, AND I just gave my girlfriend £60 for two tickets to see Thunder on their final show (her idea not mine, i hate that AOR crap) if i had seen this last night, i would have bought it. hell if I had seen this 5 minutes ago i would have bought it and been at your door in 20 minutes. Dosi Y'Anarchy Posted January 30, 2009 Share Posted January 30, 2009 Redzombie - looks like we have similar taste in fuzz, was gonna get a Colorsound BassFuzz (tonebender) this week, but opted for a Tech21 Bass XXL and a Maxon AF9, heard the redeye clip on their myspace - i think better recordings would do the pedal more justice, but those guys seem to make good stuff at fantastic prices and are open to suggestions too. I have the Green Stache (as mentioned above) and have owned a Messdrive Hybrid+ seems like you want either a tonebender or a muff-type fuzz. as far as i understand it, the Coloursound Bassfuzz gets really synthy at higher settings that the other pedals cant (even the supercollider from the clips i heard) which can be a real plus if you want that chris wolstenholme-type fuzz the supercollider is more tweakable, the Hybrid+ is probably the smallest (and a great pedal, but i didnt think its tone was anything too special), the Green Stache just seems to work with my band really well without needing a blend. just my opinions, i saw you had a long GAS list of fuzz and if you're like me, it means you'll have to buy every one before you'll b sure. oh yeah, dont forget the Wren&cuff Pickle Pie B - its an awesome muff clone Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But it'll hopefully be worth it! I was quite interested in the Bass Fuzz at first, but not quite sure I want anything too synthy though (not really a fan of Muse, I'm more into Tool and RATM type fuzz). For starters I'll probably just go with the Bass Big Muff since it's cheap, then see if I can get a silicone version of the Redeye built for me, then onto the Green Stache I expect. Who knows where I'll go from there, I do know I eventually want to find the best possible sounding fuzz for my rig/band though. There's also the Zoom Ultrafuzz I'd like to give a shot. Too many pedals, too little money! Thanks for sharing your fuzz experiences, always good to hear how other people get on with their pedals. Can I ask if your bass is active or passive?
