I've decided to put my Lefty MIM Jazz up for sale. I bought it to use as a teaching instrument, but it's now surplus to requirements so it has to go.


It's had quite a lot done to it:

Pickups replaced by the previous owner with noiseless upgrades - Fender I think but not too sure;

Audere Active preamp (JZ-3 if I remember correctly);

Gotoh 201 bridge upgrade.

I have a feeling the tortoiseshell scratchplate is a custom job as well.

When I got the bass it had a bridge ashtray fitted, but it doesn't fit over the Gotoh and so has been left off (hence the screwhole marks on the body).

I stlll have the original bridge if the buyer wants it, and I think I still have the original pickups (can't swear to that though). The ashtray is currently doing service on my '77 Jazz and won't be available in the sale.

I have a proprietary HSC that it came in. Unspectacular but does the job.

Apart from the visible marks where the ashtray came off, it's in excellent condition throughout with no damage of any consequence anywhere. Fitted with T.I. halfwounds (or whatever it is they call them!)

Given the extensive upgrades fitted, I'm looking to get around £275 for it if I can.

I'll post it if I have to, but would rather do the job myself or make an arrangement with the buyer.

Anybody up for a kind of lefthanded bass swop shop type thingy?

I'm sure there are a few members here that have a few basses that they haven't thought of selling but don't really play a great deal, but given the right offer may pass them on.

How about listing what we have (even the ones that we don't really want to get rid of) and seeing if any of us can tempt a deal, or may be a mutual swap for a short time eg a month or so?????

Just a idea, what do you think??

Ok, this one is a bit of a feeler, looking to sell my lovely Shuker J4E, This was the 2nd bass i had built by Jon, the bass itself is like new, there is one small scratch, which is barely noticeable, the reason this is a feeler is because i am not sure if anyone will buy a bass with my name on it (on headstock), although this is cosmetic and i am sure this could be removed, not looking to trade, unless any fellow lefties have something really special hidden away, looking for £900

Always liked the look of this bass.
I would have made an offer if not for the fact that I have a Shuker J5 currently in the build process, plus need spare cash for other things at the moment.

I am not really looking to shift anything but I have my Stringray 4, white/white pearloid/maple and Fender MIJ 57'p reish w/Duncan 1/4 pounder and bridge over fitted (original pickup still with it) if anyone fancies a trade

Bit of a long shot but wondering if any lefties have an acoustic upright they are thinking of moving on.
Already own a Bassix EUB which I'm happy with at this time so acoustics only please.
Looking for used only, not new.

i have a lefty MIJ 62 reissue fender jazz, exactly the same as this

it has a few dings, but is generally in great condition and has recently been set up professionally. its the 50th anniversary edition and has a little badge on the back of the headstock documenting this :)

id be interested in swapping it for a MIJ aria pro II sb bass, or a westone thunder. Or a fretless of any description really, try me! pics to follow soon

Thanks Wildus, too rich for me (and I value my life) only having just taken custody of Sandberg JJ4 custom and a big Genz Benz riggage. I have always really loved these though, they are slapper dapper tastic. I wouldn't get it past the detector, she is only just back ironing my socks after the 6 string Ibanez you sold me 2 years ago.
