Hey, I know this is about a month late but I got a bass off of there, from the clearance and it came through in pretty quick time. However it did go to the billing address rather than the specified delivery address. Not a big deal for me because it my parents but was annoying. But the clearance section had a clear quantity for each item and you had to phone up, well when I got mine to order it and the guy I phoned rang through and checked it was in stock and called me back with details and was very helpful.

On the companies going under bit, they did come out of sound controls demise I believe and have said that they will honour any warranty from there. Keeping it on a much smaller scale too. So I don't know on that front but they seem to be keeping it clean and above board so far.

p.s. I got the vampyre, yay.

Glad to hear that you got the Vampyre.

Re the 5 string white stingray @ £499 in the earlier posts - i was speaking to the manager of the guitar dept in one of the Reverb branches just after this saga and I mentioned that me and a few other had just missed out on this 'bargin'.
He said 'Yeah that one went really quickly - it was bought by a member of staff' Then reacting to the pause on my end of the phone added 'he just got the email tha same as anybody else'. I said, 'well looks like he flipped it on eBay straight away' the guy was losted for words at that point ;)

Seems crazy that they'd advertise the bass if it was never gonna get offered to the public - trading standards anyone? I bet it generated them a lot of hits on their site and a few more sales - not a bad marketing ploy if you ask me. This story reminds me of something I heard about Tesco around xmas - basically they were advertising Bayleys at £9 a large bottle, but they never actually had any in stock cos they all sold out within 48 hours. They continued advertising the offer for about a month but never put any more on sale. A woman from trading standards who was a Tesco customer started the process to take them to court over it. Not sure I'd try and take on Tesco in court though

I don't think they'll be too concerned right now: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=39730

Damn, I must have had my head up my arse for the last 24 hours. I didn't notice this at all.
