Rainbowbat
Hello! I am new on here, haven't played bass since school, but really enjoyed it and want to come back to it properly once my course is over (3 weeks counting! ). Looking for advice on good beginners guitars and amps that aren't really expensive (~£100-£150). Will happily take second hand, so long as it still works well R. T-Bay
Trace Elliot kit is superb quality and very cheap, a decent combo can be had for around £100-150 depending on model.
Skybone
Welcome aboard mate. Check out Gumtree Highland, the music shops don't have that great a selection in stock, there's always the local Buy, Swap, Sell on Facebook.

mep
Welcome to Basschat. Good luck finding an amp. Should be plenty of second hand one to choose from. I suppose you want something that would be suitable for gigging as well as home practice? When I'm not playing bass I like to ride my motorbike. I toured Scotland last year and have fond memories of riding the A9 from Inverness one morning during an almighty rain storm. It was like the lights had been turned off and a waterfall appeared. leftyyorky
Hi, and welcome aboard, I'm sure you'll find a vast wealth of knowledge and guidance on here. With regard to bass guitars, I think that for the price range you are speaking of that Squier would certainly be worth a look at, you should be able to pick up a second hand precision or jazz bass and as a Sqier jazz owner myself I can vouch for the quality in that price range. Good luck with your return to bass playing and please keep us informed of your progress.
Callumjord
Welcome aboard, Inverness is a great city with plenty of live music over the weekend. I'm not far away from Inverness (Elgin) and find myself playing there once every other month. Managed to source my bands PA system all second hand from Inveness
GWRW1964
Hi there. I'm ex-Inverness (Drakies) now in Ayr. Also a newbie. Seems to be a lot of people with a lot of knowledge in here so should be both fun and useful.
dmccombe7
Welcome to the Forum. Love the Highlands in general. Cracking roads up North. NC500 being quite famous for all types of transport. I holiday at least once every year at Drumnadrochit. Been doing it since mid 90's. Dave
Skybone
At this rate, we could set up a HIghlands Bass Bash...
dmccombe7
There is a topic on that very subject already. Long long discussions maybe held in Perth but didn't really come to anything. Dave
