Good to see things moving on the R-400's too.

Have to say i'm so chuffed with the WB-100 and i'm sure Leszek will have put the same effort into everything he does.

My original concerns about not being loud enough have been put to rest as i've never gone above 11 o'clock on the master with Gain between 12 and 2 o'clock.

where did you get it OR how did you do it ?

Sorry - totally forgot to reply to this. Here's Leszek's instructions.

3x 0.25W - 1k resistors

Leszek suggested using other values for the RC resistors:

1x - 0.25W - 470ohm resistor

1x - 0.25W - 2k resistor

..but I went with 1k from the start, and it's just the job. Gigged it last night and it's great to be able to drive the preamp 🙂

Boxes in progress... looks like a pretty hands-on process.

Jeez for hand crafted boxes... this must be really labor intensive and costly.. Have to say, it doesn't seem reflected in the price..

Thanks WoT. Since this means nothing to a techno numpty like me, is there anyone who makes this commercially? I haven't gigged my WB-100 yet (band hiatus) but should resume gigging soon so would be good to have this in the cables bag

You can buy attenuators from Amazon etc., but as well as costing significantly more, they tend to take the form of long metal barrels which I wouldn’t want sticking out of my amp, or the desk. You cloud stick it out of the way with an XLR either side of it, tho.

I’ve gigged my wb100 probably 20 times or so, maybe more. I’ve never had anyone say the DI is hot.

that said, I run the gain at 4 max and the master volume up full.

The more Pro stuff I come into contact with can handle it fine. It absolutely smashes lower-end desks and my Scarlett interface, tho.

The adapter brings it pretty much in line with my R400.

Just coming back to this @wateroftyne would this do the job, affixed to an XLR cable to keep it out of the way of the front of the amp? Sorry, electronics is really not my thing (some would argue bass playing too 🙂 ) https://www.amazon.co.uk/MainCore-20db-Balanced-Attenuator-Adapter/dp/B07SWVVHVK/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1YA5IZ55WDU7E&keywords=1k+ohm+attenuator&qid=1673947672&sprefix=1k+ohm+attenuator%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-4

Yes it would - as you suggest I’d recommend a short XLR > XLR before it, as not to have it sticking out of the front of your amp. 20dB is quite a reduction, but I think it’ll be right.

Thanks for the info.....then there's various taxes☹

The first WB-100 i got was circa £840 and had no additional taxes. Came straight to me from Parcelforce.

The 2nd one had £47 additional taxes etc. thru Customs.

Seems to be a hit or miss whether it goes thru customs checks for additional charges ???
