For lovers of VST instruments, like AMpeg SVX, Amplitube etc, this could be a dream come true. How many reverbs did I hear you say?? Like the openstomp, I am thinking that this could be the real future of effects pedals. OK, I still think that analog pedals sound better than digital in most applications (I am not saying that analog is the best for everything!) but the upgradability of these format pedals mean that anything, within reason, can be developed to bring sounds previously unheard of, to the live musician. No need for those backing tracks or pesky keyboard players... or carrying around laptops that are at higher risks to lock ups and crashes etc... I shall keep watching with interest! That's a rackmount VST-running-thingy, might be just what you're after. Comes with a whopping big hard drive so you can keep loads of plug-ins on there, and a bunch of assignable knobs for tweakery. Good - but then why don't you just take a PC on the road with you? a PC would take up less space and ultimately do more.... or is that just me? I'd consider chopping in all my effects/pedalboards for one of those if I had the chance to try it out for a couple of days to decide if it was my ultimate effects solution.
