Yes, that cable should work, just make sure it's a mono (unbalanced) jack at the end.

A string always oscillates at its fundamental frequency, with a harmonic series superimposed on top of that -- the ratio of harmonics to fundamental, and to each other, depends entirely upon the excitation point and any additional boundary conditions other than the end points. The ratio of harmonics does not, however, depend upon length. The fundamental frequency of the string is mostly a function of the tension, mass per unit length, total length and boundary conditions. The wave speed on this string will thus be a function of the tension and mass per unit length, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the speed of sound in air.

You may need to go to control panel --> sound and turn the gain down however, else it might distort beyond all reason lol. There are also some reasons why it might not work, so if you can't get it working let me know.

Might work if you use a regular mic maybe?

The only way to do this is if there is hardware control of the gain on each channel (as you've got on your 0202), or possibly if you go Control Panel --> Sounds and adjust the balance of the input recording device. That's not to say it won't work ok though. If the 0202 is like the 0404 the 'mono' button only affects the direct monitoring.

Laimis[/quote] Skype sees the sound cards inputs as one single input -- this may be the first input, or the windows driver and/or Skype may sum all inputs uniformly into one. If it only sees the first input, then you will need an external mixer. It might work without that though, have you tried it?

It sounds to me like the jack socket itself it dirty, loose, or both -- sometimes happens with age. Is it an open back jack socket inside? Sometimes you can just bend the connector bits back into shape, and whilst you're at it give them a bit of a clean.

Skype can't interface with ASIO, so it will be interfacing usin MME or WDM or something along those lines (basically just through windows), but it means that it might not see multiple inputs as separate. It may mix the multiple inputs automatically in software, I don't know. Have you tried it yet?

(even if you play guitar) Another good thing to check on these old HH amps is the low-voltage supply rails -- they're often listed in the schematics as being +/-15 or +/-16 volts, but are sometimes closer to +/-18. This can be right on the limit for the 741 variants that are in there, so it's a good idea to drop these down to +/-15 volts -- there is no disadvantage and the op-amps should (in theory) last longer. If they're already at 15 or 16 volts though, they'll be fine, no need to change them -- have worked on a few HH amps, but not an IC100 yet, so am unsure about the specifics of this particular model.

Also a fan of the 'low height, rack width' design of the head, instead of the more common 'narrow-but-taller/deeper' design -- I think this looks better. 9V power and effects loop on the footswitch are nice too, it's good to see I'm not the only one with such ideas.
