Picked it up yesterday. It is fabulous - very happy with her. The sound is really tight and detailed, the B string is fantastic.

I will probably do a proper review soon but for now, here are some pics:

That is an absolute stunner. I have heard a lot about these basses and the amazing quality, where can one try one of these bad boys? are there any dealers or shops in the UK or do you have to get them shipped over?

NJE - you have to get them shipped over at the moment. I got this one direct from Bacchus after looking for this model at various shops in Japan. I have been playing with it all afternoon and got the setup about perfect but want to clear my head and come back to it later.

By the way - If I cannot sell my amplifier I may end up having to sell this bass to pay for my operation. I will let you know but if you might be interested let me know. It would be a damn shame but last in, first out. We will see.

bass_ferret - they seem to quite like transparent squared off scratchplates over there, there is a similar one on my jazz. i think they look superb, and of course they do the job nicely!

I will put up some clips later

Here is a quick fairly shabby sample - no mastering or anything but it gives you some idea of the raw sound of the bass!

That sample was with the bass and treble bosted on the bass somewhat, I was playing along with a track with not much else in it so wanted to fill it out. It has a gorgeously smooth deep sound like that. I will do some flatter samples soon, but having some problems with my recording gear at the moment, I hope to iron it out tomorrow!

Lovely looking beast!
I've always fancied a COMBAT bass http://www.combat-guitars.com/ - but they seem almost impossible to get outside Japan....

I have been hard at work today doing some basslines for some tunes - I went with the Bacchus 24 on two of them, here are the first take results which will give you a flavour of this bass in a band context!

I really love this bass, it has a really detailed and clear character and plays like buttah!

Ignore the bleeps and things at the strat, thats the sync track.

This is a soul kind of number, with some fingerstyle bass and the occasional pop 'n' slap

This one is a deep and fat soundtrack sort of vibe with some low bass and strings.
