I think they will have some fairly soon. They certainly expect the Rootmaster 800 head to be ready mid Feb, and this uses the same power section :)

Excellent, cheers Merton :)

:gas: I love the sound of the old Ashdown Amps. The sound of the newer ones are different!

Very true - my dad has one of the very first British MAG combos - the thing is an absolute BEAST. The current models sound nothing like it at all.

Although, I know his had some problems, so he took it into Ashdown HQ and worked on it - whether it got upgraded in any way whilst it was there I don't know.

Just noticed that some of the major stores are now showing these in stock - anybody got one yet?

Yeah, looking back at my January post they were a bit optimistic!!

The Retroglide is certainly out there now but not aware of anyone who has one.

The RM800, meanwhile, is due end of July now...

This makes perfect sense to me. As long as the sound is reasonably neutral it would be good for the guys with preamp on their pedal boards. Use it simply for volume (rather than tone shaping) then just use the eq to scoop out the boomy frequences from stage to stage. 3 rotary knobs kind of restrict you for in my opinion.
