TheGreek Posted July 19, 2014 Share Posted July 19, 2014 Great little basses that are far bassier than full size basses - the tiny little fretboards do take getting used to though and the white rubber strings are too sticky to play without a ton of talcum powder. alyctes Posted July 19, 2014 Share Posted July 19, 2014 Definitely, the Fender-made strings are both unpleasantly sticky and break if you look cross-eyed at them. tauzero Posted July 21, 2014 Share Posted July 21, 2014 I still have the silicone strings on mine and I don't use talc for them, just don't slide around the neck and use a rather violinish left-hand technique (fingers pointing along rather than across the strings). I must say, I never understood the double bass comparisons as it sounds much closer to a fretless bass guitar with flats IMO.
